Beard wax or oil and a beard comb. It'll help keep your beard soft and keep it more controlled so it's not coarse and sticking up all over your face.

I use Honest Amish beard wax. It's very lightly scented and super moisturizing. You can find it on Amazon for about 10 bucks and a little comb will run you 8-10.

I also enjoy reminding folks of how good my beard will feel between their legs.

Get Out! The Amish don't have electricity or toilet paper -- But beard wax?

Maybe it's the same stuff they use on that great Amish furniture . . . repackaged. Rebranding can't be against their religion.

Priorities man! Nobody notices a stinky asshole right off, but they might notice a gnarly beard.

And it probably is the same formulation as wood wax. It's all just plant oils - I imagine you could find it being used many ways!

Are you suggesting they give dealing with " morning wood" a whole new meaning? Well, why not? I admit, I've used everything but furniture polish at one time or another......mayonnaise, olive oil, butter, chocolate syrup.........

Any advice to grow fuller and thicker facial hair? Whenever I try to grow mine out it just ends up real thin and patchy... It's not really a good look.

That's a tough one because it's mostly genetics. If you have actual patches where the hair is not growing at all, there is little you can do about it. A full beard is not in your future.

However, I know that my beard grows at different rates. It takes about a month before the slower growing hairs have caught up and I have the maximum fullness I'm going to get.

Also, most people's beards are not monochromatic. Take a look at those patchy spots and determine whether there is no hair or it's just lighter colored hair that is making it look patchy. People will disagree, but if it's done well you can tint your beard without it looking unnatural and foolish. The trick is to use a color that is a shade or two lighter than the darkest hair in your beard. That way you don't get a monochromatic look. Again, genetics. If your natural beard color is pretty light this would be tough to do.

I will not post it. I let my beard grow for two weeks after my knee replacement. I was going to my first PT appointment, and wanted to look my best (usually, I reserve that for my personal trainer, but that's another story).

It made me look like what I was: A disheveled 65 year old man. Probably homeless, too. Off it went. Mostly grey, a little non-descript 'other'.

When I was in college, I grew a mustache. I think I told this story, but basically people told me it made me look like I was wearing an eyeglass, nose, and mustache disguise.

I've had a beard for 20 years now after I got out of the military. I feel naked without it. I concur with advice to seek out oil/wax and a comb. Your skin under the beard can dry out if unattended, leading to unattractive dander, so oil up and enjoy!
