I think they speak English in New Zealand.

I realise/realize that but there might be a slightly different way a New Zealander spells some words. That being said, his spelling/usage of 'weather' was incorrect. I was just cutting him a little slack.

Leave that for me, man. English IS my second language.

Anyway, you probably like the boy and so you are more forgiving. I would do the same if I were in your shoes. I just don't find him attractive. At all.

I would be willing to bet that the meaning of "its vs. it's" is universal anywhere that English is spoken, regardless of spelling, pronunciation or dialect. The fact that Americans get it wrong all the time is due to a crappy education system.

I think it has less to do with a crappy education system than it does with people forgetting the rule.

I'm sure there are many possible explanations of why you would write its vs it 's, there vs their, know vs now, effect vs affect, etc; but a poor education has very good chances most times

I agree, but I suspect in many cases it's (note) a slip of the fingers when typing. I often type away, in a way thinking of the words in a sentence in turn then typing them. I often type the wrong spelling of it's/its or there/their, then pick up the error on a quick read through what I'd typed. I don't think I've ever slipped up on weather/whether/wether. For that reason I won't comment (usually) on those sorts of mistakes unless the comment can be humorous. I was tempted earlier today when someone wrote canon when they meant cannon (I think that was it). Whither I'd go and whether someone else would go there too. I often type upi when I mean you as well.

Why thank you @glennnn, I hope I can live up to that. But I was actually laying out my defence for the next time I make one of those spelling mistakes and don't notice it before I post the comment!

meh. when i type on here, i just let the fingers fly on the keyboard. im not being graded in english class anymore, and people can practice mental editing when i forget to hit the spell check. :p

Of course we all do that, I know I do it a lot, I am always editing my typos when my comments get a "like" and I re-read them.

Allow me to remind you that here we are not talking about typos in messages written is a rush, but typos in your published escort profile. Your professional published profile.

Fair point, @latbear4blk, but people do call out such mistakes in posts here, and I was commenting on those more than spelling mistakes in published ads. Of course you're right, this discussion is about them, not casual stuff-ups in this forum.

Mike you make an excellent point. I tend to write quickly which I respond to a thread here. When rereading it latter I frequently have to go back in and do some editing. I have always found it difficult to edit my own writing without waiting for some time before doing so. Unfortunately when posting here I don't want to wait a day or so before posting.

Epigonos, I always read what I've typed before I post and usually pick up the most egregious errors, but I don't wait too long before posting. Unfortunately, I still find mistakes (and things I could have phrased better) when someone comments on, or likes one of my posts. I know it's no big deal and most people accept that errors happen. I don't lose sleep over it!

Mike, when I type quickly on the computer keyboard, I am often horrified by what I have written. My mind these days seems to run ahead of itself, and I find that I have typed some words phonetically and made embarrassing mistakes like, their for there, or here for hear, your for you're, etc. It is as if my fingers are responding to a different part of my brain than the one I am consciously using. I would be mortified if someone assumed I did not know better. Before mailing or posting anything, it is important to proofread. Like you, I would never criticize someone else for a typo unless it was unintentionally hilarious. For example the author of this sign is obviously a professor of 16th century English history: 13669238_10153536186291891_8773238782127519691_n.jpg?oh=65bbea7c9f8d2fff74e848659d2dc62e&oe=57ED7841

That's a Louisiana area code -- and the state's education ranking is #47.
