To encourage testing, and show how easy it is, Prince Harry took a HIV blood test live on Facebook on Thursday.

Video of the test, which was completed at a London hospital and included an unidentified health worker's explanation, was streamed live on the British royal family's Facebook page.

"It is amazing how quick it is," the 31-year-old Harry said. "So whether you're a man, woman, gay, straight, black or white — even ginger — why wouldn't you come and have a test?"

(his result: negative)

I suspect the results were established well before the promotional side show. Can you imagine if he could/ would announce that somehow he was now POZ-- that would be a public service announcement! One which I doubt Buckingham Palace would allow.

Peace,

Kipp

I'm glad he did it.

When will he put on a condom on camera to show how preventable HIV is?

I used to go along with the theory that Hewitt was his father, but now I strongly suspect the papers/sites pushing the speculation touch up the side-by-side pics to look more similar. I've seen many where they don't look much alike at all, and I do see similarities to Charles in the eyes.

The upside of celebrity...

You use it to encourage good decisions, or raise money for worthy causes. You put your name to something that people are shy about or ashamed of and, by example, you say, "Don't be."

The downside of celebrity...

People speculate out loud or in print about things they know nothing about with little thought to how they might hurt you -- for example, by reminding you of your mother's unhappiness, or by questioning the legitimacy of the most important relationships in your life.

Yeah, Harry looks something like James Hewitt. I've looked at the side-by-side images too.

I, on the other hand, have no idea who I look like, no idea who my biological father was. But I know who looked out for me, and loved me, and whose hand I held when he was dying, and that's enough for me.
