It's a generational thing amongst the millennials, beards and tattoos to express their nonconformist sentiments. However, beards and tattoos have become so ubiquitous that having one or both is a glaring expression of conformity.

Very few guys can pull them off these days. But when they do its damn sexy. See Mike Gaite for an example of a good looking young man in a sexy beard.

I really haven't cared much. I like dick and ass...I do pray there is no disturbing fashion trend that will get in the way of that! o_O

I'm currently sporting the scruffy look. folks older than me don't like it as much. However, I'm getting hit on by younger guys a lot more. I'm on the fence (not literally!)

Think it's the generation aspect. I'd love to get some scruff on, mainly because I'm into older guys and think it's attractive. Just as children try to copy their parents, we go for what we perceive is attractive.

Besides last week I went back through last months reviews and not that many of the twenty somethings are sporting facial hair. Maybe 20%? Allot more of the older guys do though.

I think older guys have always had a lot of beards and mustaches. I've had my beard on and off (mostly on) since college.

I agree. It's not a exactly a trend when it's something that's just always been. I just find this post kind of silly. Yup. I'm going to be celebate now because a few young guys are sporting beards. Lol I honestly don't care and like the scruffy feel of it sometimes.

The only thing I don't like is the exclusionary way that some of them go by. The Beard cliques if you will. I've gone out in Weho and quite a few of them travel in packs and exclude anyone that doesn't fit in to that ideal. Then again that's probably something that's always been too. Another reason to exclude someone.

i tried a mustache in college. I was at a [mixed] party one night. The fellow next to me took his glasses off, looked at me, laughed, and whispered to the girl next to him. She did the same thing.

We were sitting in a circle. People would either take their glasses off, or borrow someone else's classes; take a look at me; and laugh.

After about 10 people had done this (there were about 20 of us), the original fellow leaned over to me and said:

Gallahad
[no, he used my real name]
, when I look at you with my glasses off, you look like you're wearing an eyeglass, nose, and mustache disguise.

I shaved that night when I got home.

My beard now comes in all salt-and-peppery. I limit shaving to three times a week, as I've always hated it, and growing a beard is not an option. I tried that, too, in college, and after a month, I hadquarter-inc h hairs that were coming in auburn, which didn't match the rest of my coloring at all, so that was that.

I'll second Mike Gaite's beard. Then again, he would be hot even without it.

This is somewhat generalized. If you were to peruse ALL of the ads at http://www.men4rentnow.com and at http://www.rentmen.com and some other lesser known

escort sites, I think you’d find your analysis somewhat off in terms of facial hair as well as tats. I, for one, don’t mind nicely groomed facial hair and/or

a tat or two, but when one comes with a body full of either, that’s a “turn off” for me.

Anyone remember the '70s (I suspect you do) when everybody had a mustache? I don't care about facial hair. It can be really hot on some people. Don't mind tats either if they are well done. I positively HATE the man bun and hope that fad fades quickly. I don't get into guys who resemble my great aunt Sallie.

My father grew a mustache when he was in his early 20s, to draw attention away from the fact that he was going bald prematurely, so my mother had never seen him without it. After many years of marriage, he shaved it off, because it was not in fashion in the 1950s. My mother took one look at him, and insisted that he grow it back immediately; she said it was like being married to a stranger. He grew it back and had it until he died.

I grew one in my early 20s for the same reason, but I often shaved it off, then after a little while I would let it grow back, usually with a beard. I didn't have it when I met my partner, but in the 1970s, when the lumberman clone look was "in," we both we both grew beards and mustaches. Eventually we grew tired of the look, and in subsequent decades we would shave for a few years, then grow the facial hair back for a few years, then repeat. At the beginning of this century I was cleanshaven, but when Hooboy died, I stopped shaving again. Interestingly, I had the new beard and mustache for months before my partner noticed I had grown it back. He started shaving his head completely about twenty years ago, but a couple of months ago he decided he was tired of doing it, and let the hair on his head grow back. To his shock--and mine--it turned out to be completely white and much thinner and finer than it used to be. Suddenly I feel like I married Bernie Sanders, and I want to tell him to shave it again.

Sure WOOF WOOF but as far as I'm concerned this guy is the exception NOT the rule. I'm with the anti tattoo and anti facial hair crowd. Kissing is a major turn on for me and I DO NOT enjoy kissing a guy with a mustache or beard
