Anyone know of any predominantly gay gyms in the South Kensington area in London?

Gay gyms? In the South? Surely you jest Aaron...

I'm sure there are 'gay-frequented' gyms that others can recommend here in the Southern USA, although IMO, i'd much rather not get my workout at a gym that is all or mostly gay.

Why? For me, i'd rather spend my gymtime actually working out rather than being cruised and playing the 'look at me, look at me' game in the weightroom. It's annoying to me. Being in the gym has never been a social hour for me and it's something i enjoy on a very 'Zen' level. lol. Added, when i see people on their cell-phones at the gym (sometimes WHILE working out), it makes me want to rip it from their tacky hands and beat them with it.

Am i being honest enough here? ;)

My passively-straight gym in San Antonio is a pretty well mixed crowd. I can get in and out of there in a couple of hours without any mess or having to deal with kissing anyone on the cheek. It's my kind of place.

... But back to the question at hand: Can anyone help Aaron find his way down the Yellow Brick Road to a gym?

Warmest Always,

Hmmm...I work out at a predominantly gay NYC gym, and that's not a problem for me. I'm serious about my training and I don't allow anything to distract me. If you choose to play along with the cruising and showing off, I think that's really your choice, no?

LOL I like this aggressive side of you. My pet peeve at the gym is (are?) the guys who obsessively stare at themselves in the mirror, not just posing and flexing but adjusting the baseball caps (first foreward, then backward, then slightly off to the side, then backward and slightly off to the side...) and tucking/untucking the shirts, etc. And it actually happens more at the straight gyms I've visited! :o

Used to be a Gold's member. Great gyms. Usually the staff is well informed and not always trying to sell you something.

No clue if they still do this or not, but there used to be sort of an informal, reciprocal membership benefit for short term stays. (Like two weeks or less.) The gym you wanted to visit would call your home gym and see if they're accept one of their members. If so, you were in. Great for business trips.

I agree man oh man to I hate it when people look at me as if I am there to hook up. My lord if I really needed to hook up I would do so in other ways and not in my gym. I am way to shy and it just drives me away more than it keeps me coming back.

Also I hate working out I don’t know about you guys here but I would rather do my geeky things. Star Trek anyone?

If you go far enough south, like South Beach, Florida, ALL the gyms appeared gay to me the last time I looked. :p

I like to work out at the Club Fort Lauderdale, on Broward Blvd, a sauna but with a great little gym and never very busy, altho the sauna is...}( What is nice is that most of the "eye candy" is displayed outside around the pool and you can do your exercises inside and watch through the great big picture windows. It takes great will power to stay inside and keep doing your exercises...
