Greg, thanks so much for that article. It gives some incredible statistics and facts and offers so much hope for the future. It definitely shows how much can be done when resources and find intellect are pooled for the fight. We have come a long way from the 80/90s when it was hard to even have hope. But as the last paragraph shows we still have some ways to go.

HIV is a touchy subject for me. I was seeing someone thru the end of winter/begging of spring. He traveled with me. We took things super slow, offered some 4 handed sessions (he was only into touching clients, no sucky or fucky. In terms of "us" I insisted we took it slow and never kissed, fucked or anything -- straight quality time getting to know him! It went great! Even HunterLee got to meet him, I played it off so cool with me and my friend just being friends, even Hunter BELIEVED it, haha! But to be quite frank, he never left the south, from Bama and he only traveled to Atlanta to visit family, seeing NYC was his goal. I fulfilled that, and many other cities.

 

During our tour, he kept meeting strangers for free, hooking up and going missing for hours, even found him at a meth party in NYC online! Long story short he contracted HIV at some point during our 2 1/2 month tour. When he got home he told me when he went to the clinic and came back poz. I thanked God, him and myself for letting me dodge that bullet.

 

It's not a death sentence, but I had to break things off, crazy sex is one thing-- meth is another. I cannot and will not jeopardize my livelihood so someone else can party with meth!

 

I do miss massaging him, I miss the character he pretended and portrayed to be, but in the end he was empty inside and didn't know where he was going in life. Some people can NOT handle traveling and being responsible.

 

This is a PSA, FYI to let everyone here know the devil hides in sheep's SKIN. Nobody has your best interest in mind, no one will protect you, LIKE YOU PROTECT YOU.

He's been talking about ending the AIDS epidemic by 2030 for awhile. He even mentioned it in his state of the union in January. Clinton and Sanders have talked about it too. We have a long way to go though:

 

Hilary McQuie, who attended the meeting as director of U.S. policy and grassroots mobilization for the HIV/AIDS group Health GAP, said the next president must increase the momentum in the global AIDS effort by increasing funding.

 

“We are at a crossroads in the AIDS response,” McQuie said. “If we scale up access to treatment and prevention programs within the next five years, we will curb the spread of HIV and see the end of the pandemic as we know it by 2030. If we choose to continue business as usual, we will see rising infection rates and millions more preventable deaths in the coming decades.”
