With Alec Andrews and Chris Eisenhower moving on to other employment, I am curious what kind of employment is available for escorts after they have decided to move on, which pays as much money, gives as much freedom and for which, gaps in the resume are not a problem.

if he's invested wisely, he can afford a job he likes versus a job he takes for the salary..

And here's a great investment, sure to appreciate at 10% per annum!

Just about anything they want to do... I know a few who have gone into the medical field and into law.

But let's not downplay that it may be very difficult to do for many escorts.

The smart ones save their money and invest. Steven Kessler has said he has invested in real estate rental property as an example of a smart escort. I know two escorts who did save and invested similarly and can do fine in "retirement." By the same token, I know of an escort who just can not handle money and while his ad claims he is in his 30's, he is still escorting in his 50's as he just can not save a penny.

It all depends on the individual; just like in the non-escort world.

Since my early 30's I've struggled to arrive at a number for what's "enough" to live well on whether today while working or when I'll retire. I've never met a financial planner/investment advisor/etc. that hasn't told me I need to "save more until it hurts" (yes, an actual statement).

The difference is, if an escort has been doing that and nothing else for a number of years, there may be a gap in the resume which would need to be explained. I know of at least two escorts who are actively working as lawyers after their escorting career of many years ended. Both worked full time prior to that and worked for several year full time while maintaining and independent life as a part time trainer.

Strangely enough, they dated for a very short time though they live about 3000 miles apart.

The formula is very simple: a million more than you have today.

While that explains it, you must admit, certain jobs may not look at that as a positive. In your case, you probably have the statistics to show how well your business is run which may be a big positive.

Or not. :(

If you start with the assumption that the best escorts can make over 6 figures in their peak years, this means you have to save or earn $3 million to make the same after you retire.

That's a lot, even in whore money.

I mean no harm, but... how am I downplaying anything?

I said a statement of fact. Once an escort retires, he can do almost anything (job wise). I never made a statement for you to assume I said it would be easy for an escort. I know it can be difficult for anybody to find a job that one can make a decent living off of, retired escort or not.

I just happen to know a few who parlayed their earnings to use for schooling to become doctor's, lawyers, or what have you. Professions, which in some way, that can give them some of the same luxuries they had as escorts.

It's all good though. :)

You seem to assume that the money earned just sits there and is not earning money, too. For example, I know an escort who used some of his "whore money" to buy a house; that first house is now worth several hundred thousand dollars more; his "whore money" has made him more money with the appreciation in value. Also, he bought the house next door when the old couple who lived there went into a retirement home; he use "whore money" to not only buy the second home but to fix it up as well; while it "earns" him money while it appreciates in value, he rents it out earning him more money. This very successful escort has escorted for close to twenty years. Because he saved money, lived frugally and invested as he went along he can retire any time and not have to work again.

You have talked about owning rental houses in Palm Springs so I would guess that you have a similar story.

"Downplay " may be the wrong word and my comment wasn't directed at you personally. I just meant that there are escorts who didn't save their money and may not have enough other prior skills to find work in this challenging job market. And the resume gap is an issue too. Also depends on their education level too like any other job seeker.

I get what you mean. And I agree. Like I said it's all good sir. :)

I retired from part-time escorting once I finished grad school in my early 20s. Thanks to escorting & few scholarships, I started my "post retirement" life with an MBA, a coaching certificate, debt-free, and a nice nest egg. I used my coaching certificate and business model to run a "life coach" business while in school. Many of my escorting clients became coaching clients. That really helped my resume & bottomline. I also used some of my nest egg to buy a small place in NYC that I spent weekends fixing up. I sold that place and used that dough to invest long-term n the market.

I wish I could say I was smart and wise enough to have figured all that out on my own without messing up once. Actually, that wasn't the case. I got in trouble a few times, I lost focus often, but I was lucky to have a couple of mentors in my life who told me what I needed to hear & gave me some sound investing advice. Fortunately, the best skill I learned from escorting was to listen without judging, and judging when it really, really mattered. So far, my life is not perfect, but I feel I have the freedom I want, I consider myself successful, and I'm happy on my own terms.

I hate undated Internet articles. The one Steven has posted is probably 205, second half.

The other half of "save until it hurts" is "live as frugally as you can." And, if you're likely to receive an inheritance, "kill off all of the other beneficiaries."
