Any good gay clubs clubs & Bars in NY

Hello guys,

 

I will be going on a trip to NY for a week, any good gay bars or clubs in Manhattan. By good, I mean a place where the guys are actually there to hook up and meet new guys. Im a bi guy who occasional like to hook up with hot dudes. On my last trip to NY, I was very disappointed with the venues that I checked out (The Cock, XL Nightclub). XL Nightclub was the worst, it seemed like that place is not a place guys go to to meet or socialize or better hook up. The cover charge was ridiculous ($25.00), not worth it. I paid $25.00 to go watch a bunch of queens acting like bitchy girls. No one talked to each other, there was no interaction between the guys, but lots of attitude. It seemed like the guys were only there to show off their bodies, and look for rich men. I would not recommend going to this place. The guys were definitely in the age range of guys that I like. But I can't recommend this place because it is not a place to hook up with hot studs.

 

The Cock Bar was not what I was expecting, I felt out of place there, as the bar is gear mostly towards older men. One good thing it had going for it was the guys were there to hook up, and meet people. The guys were very aggressive, I got hit on a lot which was nice. But it was mostly guys old enough to be my dad. The dancers were nice, and very interactive with the customers. I didn't particularly care for the action that was taking place on the floor (BJ, groping, etc...), I didn't find it very entertaining. Although I like a couple of dancers, but it's hard to get their attention. I would have definitely enjoy the company of one of them in my hotel room, but good luck getting their attention (Customers aggressively grabbing them).

 

I'm looking for clubs and bars in NY where there is a decent chance you going to end up going home with a nice young hot stud. I'm a good looking hairy dude, so whenever I go out in the New England area (gay clubs), I always end up hooking up with a young hot stud (no issues for me there). New York is a different story! I probably should have use that drinking money/cover charge to hire a hot muscle stud on RM ( Not have to deal with this BS), I can only do this so often (due to obligation), so when I get a chance to go to NY, I'm all about taking care of business and no BS.

 

Any good clubs or bars in NY for the purpose of meeting hot young studs in the age range of 18-30. I'm not interested in gay clubs/bars, where the guys are there to show off (bodies), and look for rich men. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated!

You're so right, I need to stick to rentmen, I don't have the patience for the club thing in NY for now. RM A lot easier to deal with, no hassle, and headache. This is the reason why I stick to strip clubs and RM, such much easier.

Jay, 2 NYC gay bars/clubs I frequent are Atlas Social Club on 9th Ave between 50th & 51st Sts and Hardware on 10th between 47th & 48th Sts. The age range sounds right for you. Suggestion: turn Grindr on & you'll find guys in the bar who are also looking.

Grindr is a great suggestion there are many guys on it in Manhattan. I always enjoy going to Boxers and Flaming Saddles in Hells Kitchen. I don't know about picking up guys there but the bar tenders in both of these places are very friendly and perhaps they may be able to tell you more about where to meet guys. Also i have found the patrons in these places quite talkative too.

Geoffk, Good point about talking with the friendly bartenders. Also, all the bars we mentioned are in walking distance of each other. So, if one doesn't work out, there are others to try.

 

Using Grindr in Manhattan or inside any bar is very helpful. There are so many guys using it.

I had the same experiences of Monster Bar, ca. 2010-2011. Lots of hooking up among people of all ages.

I will definitely check out the places you and latbear suggested. Since, I will be there for a week, I got plenty of times to check out all the places you listed, and a few strip clubs. I will keep RM and PS (with strippers at NY clubs) as a back up plan. Hopefully, this trip will be more entertaining than the last one.

Mine was not a suggestion, I have not been in NYC in almost 10 years. I was rather asking to the locals if The Monster still is what it used to be. For instance, I know now one of the nights is a trippers club, which is new for me.

I would also ask to the locals about The Hangar, a few blocks away. Also very friendly, loungy, and cruisy crowd. Wednesday used to be a half price happy hour and a great event to hook up. Very diverse crowd in my times.

Try to go to the Happy hour, it's when all the locals go 5-9 then after 9 there is a lull in business and picks up later. I have gone during HHour and been invited to go to dinner with groups and hook-up several times with some really handsome men.

@JayNY , when you walk in your first gay bar go straight to the racks where they have all the free local publications. There are always several pretty informative weekly magazines with an exhaustive catalogue of all gay bars and clubs, with a brief description for each place, classified by neighborhood. They also,include a daily calendar with themeventsntaking place each day in each bar and club, including prices and happy hours.

Thank you guys for all the information, I plan on having a blast in NY. I will be there starting next Thursday May 18, 2016 for 7 days. I plan on hitting 7 bars, and two strip joints (Spunk@Monster, uncle charlie or Adonis Lounge, Posh Bar, Atlas Social Club, Hardware, Therapy, Boxers, and Flaming Saddles). Grindr currently installed on my cell phone will be turn on at all places. I hope to meet some of you guys who currently live in NY at some of the bars.

Also, if you are reasonably in shape, the West Side Club (help me, newyorkers, is that the name of the bath house in Chelsea) used to be a great spot. I would pay for a private, stay cruising for hours without getting even close to the sauna, and have sex with 5 to 6 very hot guys. After I gained weight I cannot go to that kind of places anymore.

The one I used to visit is the West Side Club. My concern would be, after all these years, how the place has been kept. 15 years ago it was clean, but borderline crappy.

THE BIJOU THEATRE!! I was forgetting about it. It was not so easy to know about it, and to find it. I wonder if it still exists. It was on E4th or 5th street and Ave A or 1, I don't remember exactly. Next to an Italian restaurante called "Fruti di Mare".

It used to be open 24 HS, the cover was 10 bucks, I think. A big basement with a big screen where porn movies were projected. You could get a blow,job in the movie theatre seats. At the left you had a counter with free sodas, coffe, snacks, and condoms. On the back of the screen and on the right side you had booths with a door you could lock from the inside. The booths were the size of a small closet, with a bench and a TV set showing porn. We were before the flat screen era here. The lucky ones would occupy a booth, the unlucky ones would walk by or stand in front of the booths trying to seduce an occupier and have sex. Stand up sex.

When the bars closed at 2 or 4 AM, everyone who was horny and did not hook up would end in the Bijou. What a party. I'm getting nostalgic.

Does the place still exist? Last time I was there was in 2000.
