Sorry that happened @dutchmuch - that really sucks. Since it was an incall there is always the option to turn around and walk away immediately.

If his appearance was your 'type' I think another option would be to chat with him for a minute to get a sense of his personality and get an explanation for the switch. I've read here several times of guys who are attractive but post pictures of others because they are concerned about their privacy. The problem I have with that is that, in essence, is a lie and whatever trust I started out with has been lost; it would be difficult for me to have a positive, intimate experience after being lied to. I was burned once by NOT turning around and walking away because I wished for something to be true so, unless there was a really positive vibe, I'd probably leave.

Your situation reminds me of a recent thread wherein the "escort" was reading this forum while changing his ad each time he read something negative posting about his ad.

 

The five supposed "reviews" that showed in his rentmen ad were suspect because the "reviews" stayed attached to his ad each time he changed the ad's screen name.

 

Fake, fake fake. I wonder what percentage of ads are fake.

Also with scammers your immediate safety comes first. I might have said, "You don't match your pics" and then turned and immediately walked away. There should be zero discussion regarding the matter after that...And FWIW, I might be overly cautious, but in situations where it is a first time, or unknown factors might arise. Consider a meet-N-greet first and always keep the car in close range.

The only problem that @dutchmuch had was that the guy did the selfie, and facetime, and DM still got scammed. It was a classic 'bait and switch'...I think DM is warning us all that you can never be too careful, and always be prepared to walk away. If I don't know the person I'm going to see, then suggesting a quick meet-n-greet over a cup of 'Joe' usually answers a lot of questions. If they're an "age shaver" or have problems with truth in advertising, or have a couple of screws missing, it will only take a minute to get the real picture. Then you just finish your coffee, thank them for their time, and move on down the road...
