Has anyone had any experience with or knowledge of this guy? http://rentmen.com/HOTLUCASXXL

I took him up on his offer to provide a face pic and he promptly send it. He sure is handsome.

I did an image search and any pictures that showed results were all from his RM and Backpage ads, so that looks promising.

Stupid question....how do you do an image search?

 

Open a tab with Google Images and have ready whatever images you want to search. To do it on Rentmen you have to drag the thumbnail pics onto your desktop or into a folder and then drag one to the center of the page and a drop-down box will open that will say "Drop Image Here". Just drop it there and that's all you have to do. (You can only do the thumbnails on Rentmen because they've made it so you can't drag the enlarged pictures to download them. The thumbnails work just as well as enlarged images anyway, so it's fine.)

Sorry to report, my friends, but HOTLUCASXXL is not the person depicted to be in the ad so it just didn't happen beyond my looking, then informing him that he's not the guy in the pics, and turning around to leave and dashing home on the subway to come tell the news. The Infallible RexB got taken in and shown just how easy it can be to be deceived. I have my theories about some of this widespread fakery that doesn't make any sense at all from my, or probably, your view, either, but I'd like to hear one main reason from a fake's mouth how he rationalizes doing something that doesn't seem to be of benefit to either one in the deal, just a lot of useless activity.

Sorry to hear this!!! Your a good guy and should not be scammed! I guess all us trusting clients take that chance with an unknown escort....I have been lucky enough with my hires so far and probably will stick with my top 5 guys though Alain Deberry from Philly has me intrigued!

you say he had earlier sent you a face pic....did that match and not the body?....or nothing matched?...or body matched, but not face?.....(maybe you didn't even get a chance to see if the body matched the pics....)

It just wasn't the same sort of face even, except that they are both brunet. His face pic is what sold me on him from the start so when I saw him all I said was "you're not the person in the pictures" and I never went in, I just wheeled around and left the hotel. I had a good time going into midtown like a tourist even though it didn't turn out the way I had imagined I wound up having a great time in this long stretch of beautiful weather here right now. And I still have my money, a sort of perverse consolation prize.

What does this sad situation tell us about the five positive reviews the guy has in his ad?

 

I guess the reviews must also be bogus like his ad photos.

 

Damn, it is a crap shoot out there with escorts that have positive reviews.

 

It is the luck of the draw, or so it seems.

It looks like the ad is gone but there is a cached copy of it.

 

I've never given much credence to RM reviews but when there are 5 it does mean something. I took a look at the submitters of those reviews and was a little surprised that some have been around for a while and are "trusted". :

I looked at each of the client profiles and none had any details (i.e., preferences, were premium, etc) but 3 had logged in today. Assuming that client profile information is visible to other clients, none of the 5 had submitted any reviews of anyone else. (if another RM client wants to experiment PM me and we can do a 'show me yours and I'll show you mine'.)

 

What does "trusted RentMen client" mean? The only info I could find on this was the statement "To ensure and maintain the integrity of Advertiser Reviews we verify the validity of the profiles of the Client and the Escort." That suggests that RentMen validated the identity of the 4 'trusted' clients above.

 

The new profile name - EuropeanXXL - has 6 reviews by the exact same 5 clients as above; Johnrock submitted 2 reviews - the second one just a few minutes ago. a HUGE coincidence.

 

I would be very curious to see what would happen if you submitted a 1-star review for EuropeanXXL.

I just saw the same thing! It just popped up as a new review, thought it says the profile is inaccessible at this point... but it shows 6 reviews total with one just submitted by client Johnrock - i.e., the one that had just been submitted for EuropeanXXL (which is also inaccessible).

 

I agree that RentMen needs to change, or at least monitor, whatever it is that allows reviews to follow screen names. The way this appears, someone has set up 5 client alias's and moves from escort name to name, pulling the positive reviews along behind him.
