mention was made of long-timed-out member RockHard in the "New To The Forum" thread.....that reminded me of his now-legendary underwear thread....old-timers around here will groan over this and newbies (<9 years) will realize nothing ever changes around here.....

note this classic line:

I employ a woman who has been caring for my wardrobe for the past 18 years. I stopped doing laundry when I realized it was more lucrative to hire someone else to do it. She hand-washes my expensive washables in Woolite and lets them air-dry. My home has a decent terrace.

some here might know if Rock was pulling the woolite over our head or was serious....doesn't matter....always a laugh at daddy's, whether underwear curls too much in the elastic or if an Italian pasta topping is properly called gravy or sauce

Yeah it always amazed me that someone of the stature he claimed to possess didnt know of designer underwear like Versace or Armani whose elastic doesnt curl, or why the fuck he didnt have a personal shopper ? He put D Trump braggadocia to shame....

The takeaway from his post is If you are gonna spin a tale, make sure you check and re-check ALL the details to make it believable.... Otherwise you look the fool !

Gotta admit, I enjoyed RockHard's posts! Or if not enjoyed, then at least liked. Or if not liked, then at least read. Each and every one.

The man himself could be pretentious, condescending, and contentious, but those are qualities that I find myself also larding on as the months and years roll by.

And he was funny! I'm sure AdamSmith remembers the Cala di Volpe thread. I'd link to it but I bet that, even after a ten-year half life, it's still radioactive enough to get this thread shut down. http://www.winemakingtalk.com/forum/images/smilies/radioactive.gif

Key to me anyway, he almost always put enough bait on the hook for me to want to wade in and fashion an offering in response. http://slotfanatics.com/images/smilies/typing_computer.gif

Some fun times were had by all, and I hope he's doing well and still living in high cotton. http://www.boytoy.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif

If I recall correctly, he was stuck on La Perla panties, for men of course.... but of course. http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/rolleye/rolleye0012.gif

Awwwwe dear sweet RH. I loved how he would refer to me as low rent. I'm glad he is gone.

Hugs,

Greg

Please so many phrases we don't hear often, talking about passive-aggressive 101.

Plus, sales-folk in NYC stores get hissy if they see you taking underwear boxes into the dressing rooms..

Hissy? Can you imagine, trying your underwear? What if someone else already tried it?

You just have to have child-bearing hips to understand my frustration here.).

I've never heard a guy describing his body that way...

I love this phrase: (To all you 32-inch-waist nymphettes, thanks but no thanks. You just have to have child-bearing hips to understand my frustration here.).

I wonder if he hires man with bodies who look like him or he likes slim/in shape guys he calls "nymphettes" as if being in good shape meant being effeminate?

I don't care about price (surprise) or the location of a store. As long as they have a phone, I can manage a sale. I'm really looking for something that makes me feel rich and comfortable..

attitude?

BTW...love the avatar.

You'd be surprised at the amount of frozen turkeys you can stuff up under those skirts. I'm sure you can identify being from the hood and all ? But I am sure they don't do that in Boca ?

Although YOU did make the news that one time Annie....

RH can be very funny once in a while. But, the same thing over and over --- bragging about how rich and well-known he was --- became boring very quickly. I really respect @Lookin, so RH must have had something I missed, perhaps just a different sense of humor.

So on RH, I mostly agree with Greg and jjkrkwood. And yes, RH is back.

why does everybody think RH is back? I thought that when that other thread that won't be named popped up there was speculation that it may be the work of RH but then it was determined to be somebody else....so why do we think he has come back? The profile is still in a time out. (am I allowed to say that? will that put me on double secret probation?)

Thanks, WilliamM, and the respect is definitely mutual!

I'm a Libra and sometimes go nuts looking at things - and people - from all sides. I sure didn't like it when RockHard turned negative on other posters. But I really liked it when he went all Auntie Mame and glided down the stairs at Beekman Place for the entertainment of his many followers.

http://blog.jillrosenwald.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Auntie-Mame-staircase-611x343.jpg

And his writing style was unique. I didn't catch it in the recent posts on this site, but I do recognize it in the post he made today over at the other site. I do believe that's the real RockHard.

But, like I mentioned further upstream, he was great at inspiring others to post, self included. Not that anything I ever posted was a pearl, but he sure gave me a good idea of what an oyster goes through when confronted with a grain of sand. http://www.boytoy.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif
