So, I'm thinking about spending a couple days in LA before and after the PS gathering. I've never done very well in LA, so I'm a bit apprehensive, but figure I should give it another chance. I was hoping some of you guys could give me some advice to what are the best areas to stay in and what hotels give you the most "bang for the buck".

I was happy with the Andaz, not cheap, a Hyatt hotel if that is important to you. I am told the Chamberlain is good too.

LOVE the Andaz, but yeah, it's not within my budget, considering I have no idea how busy I'll be. Thanks though! I'll look at the Chamberlain.

I seem to recall the Chamberlain can be a tad pricey as well. I really enjoyed my time at the Andaz this past December, but when I returned to L.A. in February, it was fully booked the weekend I was there. Guess that means that others like it too. In February I stayed at a new Springhill Suites in Burbank, and that was quite nice, while significantly cheaper than the Andaz.

you could stay at my place...<G> I have a pool....and a sling and a spare room....but I am out in the valley.

What is your price point? are you looking for WeHo area or Downtown? Will you have a car or will you be Ubering and walking while you are here....feel free to PM me if you want info.

I'm thinking about staying at the Aventura Hotel near Koreatown, I've been advised that it's an up and coming part of the city and its a cute and modern space at a good price. Any familiarity with it?

I have not stayed there, but I lived in LA my entire life (until recently) and I am familiar with the area. My opinion is that the area is marginal at best. It is not an area that I would go into or walk around after dark, and I certainly wouldn't meet an escort there. You have to be careful when people tell you that an area is "up and coming" that can mean a lot of things.

I would have to assume that most of your business would be in or close to the WEHO area, and this is not convenient to West Hollywood. IMO.. I do realize that you are looking for some 'bang for your buck' and LA prices can be a little ridiculous, so you have to way the pros and cons...If you will have transportation, and are thinking about doing mostly out calls, and need a place to crash, then it might work for you...Good luck

.

the photos are nice. it's a pretty new hotel so no info on it here....but as bigvalboysays the neighborhood is pretty sketchy. it's not close enough to the downtown area to be considered part of the revival that is going on.

K-town is a bit like the mission was in the early 00's. two blocks would be nice then there would be 6 blocks of not so nice. I have lived in LA now for 10 years and the only two times my car had been broken into was when the car was parked in k-town. you should, look for something closer to WEHo or believe it or not downtown. I am guessing though that most of your clients will be in the valley or in weho.

I like the Weho ramada for my Weho clients, the Disneyland hotels for my Anaheim clients, the Westin for my long beach clients, and the Burbank motels for my people up there. Beverly Hills Marriott isn't bad either.

Westin Long Beach +1 although probably not for the OP's stay. Mike Gaite lmk when you're there ;)

Well Kenny I like the WeHo Ramada Brothel. It is not the best, but for the price in West Hollywood it is the best for the dollar, unless you are really well healed. Ramada is nicely located for the clubs and if you are entertaining guests, everyone knows where it is.

For Koreatown, now the densest area of LA, north of Wilshire is probably best. Aventura looks like a nice place but location is too far off the beaten path.

The bathroom amenities basket has shampoo, conditioner, Q-tips and lube. So that's nice.:p

Gee Kenny I missed out, my room never had any lube. I really don't remember if it had Q-tips or not. I would have surely noticed the lube it there had been any.

Hm. Maybe it's only in the rooms that rent by the hour.

Thanks for the advice! Might look at the hotel Normandy or might just go ahead, be cliche, and stay in WeHo, perhaps at the Ramada.

I recommend the Ramada WeHo ans convenient. You can walk around in weho, uber elsewhere. Good food is walkable also. Price not bad at all if you book in advance.

I'd certainly cum see you there! (or is it see you cum there?)

Hotel Normandie did a great job on their renovation. Beautiful LA classic '20s style. And Cassell's has great food -- totally hipster burger crowd.
