I wore pajamas until I was fifteen or sixteen until a friend (who I kinda had a crush on) said he didn't, so I started sleeping nude - then realized later he slept in his underwear. My first foray into colored underwear was also because he wore them :-)

These days, California King bed (not sure if I'd get another, the extra length is good but finding sheets is a pain), sheets and a comforter, four pillows (mostly being optimistic since I only use two), almost always nude, on my side, with my dog. She started sleeping on my bed the third day we had her. Usually she settles herself at the foot of the bed but when I wake up she's moved so she's laying against me. The last few days she's been sleeping MUCH closer to me, I'm not sure what's going on but I welcome it.

On my back or side, with a pillow under my feet. Cold compress on forehead before I sleep.

I always sleep in something that would be wearable outside should an emergency occur.

Used to sleep in the nude. But, last November I ended up in the hospital and am now afraid of having a medical emergency and needing EMS help. So, I now sleep in a shirt and gym shorts.

Good point; I hadn't even considered the possibility of an overnight emergency other than a fire. I don't even keep my phone on my nightstand so I'm not tempted to look at it, but maybe I'll reconsider. As for clothing, maybe I can just keep a pair of shorts and t-shirt on the bed so that I can put them on right away.

Face down, no pillows, lightweight comforter year-round, and naked as a jaybird just in case I need the paddles. http://www.boytoy.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif

King or queen bed, traditional spring mattress with a third-party memory foam mattress topper covered by a thick cotton-batted mattress pad. Those foam mattress layers smell of chemicals when you first buy them so I air them out in the garage for a few weeks. They also feel creepy under a cotton sheet; hence the thick cotton pad. I use two down-surround pillows. I trade off between the guest room (queen) and the master bedroom (king) for a change of pace. The master is too close to the air conditioner unit outside and the guest room takes in more street noise. If I'm distracted I'll play some very low volume ambient or piano music on a 60 minute timer.

I wear a cotton undershirt, boxer briefs, and broadcloth pajama bottoms - long or short. I always like the initial feeling of climbing under the covers naked, but it becomes uncomfortable within an hour or so. Because my balls are heavy low-hangers they don't feel right hanging when I'm sleeping on my side and sometimes they get pinched as I move; briefs keep them secure. I usually wear a cotton lined neoprene sleeping mask but mine has worn out and I can't find another one I like.

I make the bed with fitted bottom sheet, top sheet and comforter, but the top sheet and comforter always get turned all the way down unused. I prefer sleeping under a loose thick cotton blanket or two. I have two queen sized flannel blankets that have been washed so many times that they're obscenely soft. The blankets are big enough to get lost under, and I hate the sensation of a tucked-in top sheet trapping my feet. I like to be able to expose my feet if I start to feel too warm.

I sleep on my side in the center of the bed. I'll start on my right side and swap to the left if my right arm or shoulder start to hurt. The cat comes and goes. Sometimes she'll be curled up right next to me. In the colder months sometimes I'll wake up to find that she has perched on my hip or thigh; she's either awake and purring or asleep sprawled out like a sack of well-balanced meat and bones.

With partners I'm a "space invader." I have to cuddle and I appreciate partners who understand the concept of synchronized spooning. If he rolls over I roll over, and vice versa. I love holding and being held while I sleep. Overnight wood is nice -- it's neither discouraged nor treated as an invitation to disturb a good rest.

Thank you N2T for your VERY detailed sleeping post, but to be perfectly honest, the highlighted part was the only thing I was focused on. :p If YOU ever become an escort, I'll be in line waiting to hire you.

Bare ass (except for a leather sleep mask), in "spooning position" on my right side, in the middle of the bed.

Nude. Two pillows, on my side, but I flip from side to side. Head propped up a bit on the pillows. Room as cool as possible. Comforter, often one foot out to cool me down a bit.

Cool, dark room. Left side down ("left lateral decubitus"). Door open and usually the cat with me. He, of course, lies on the side that I need to pull the bed covers off to get in or out of bed.

Best year of sleep: On an unheated sleeping porch, with an electric blanket and a four inch down comforter. I never quite woke up with snow on me (Northeast, don't you know) but came close. The room had windows in all four directions.

Since a three-and-a-half month hospitalization, I've gotten used to having the door open and some light coming in. I hate that they don't let you close the room door in hospitals at night.

Naked on a king size Serta memory foam, 5 firm pillows, sheets, down comforter, on my right side with little sister(dog) curled up on my right arm snoring, old timer(dog) sprawled out on the left side always against my legs, pinned in like a burrito.:( And I don't snore which I think surprises many of my overnight companions. :p

I have slept in the nude since I was 21, but like BVB, I usually keep easy-on clothing and a pair of slippers on a chair next to the bed, in case I need to make a quick exit. I prefer to sleep without a human companion, but enjoy a small dog next to me. I sleep on my side, with a Tempurpedic pillow and a softer pillow. I need something over me, even if it is only a light cotton sheet in summer, and pull it up to my chin. I need the room to be cool but not cold, quiet, and fairly dark, but not so dark that I bump into things when I get up in the night to use the bathroom.

Both my partner and I sleep in the nude. We tend to cuddle when we first go to bed, even with my cpap. I prefer to have my own space during the night, as I am usually warm. Unfortunately, my partner is usually cold, so he tends to get as close as possible.

Our next bed will be a special order .... dual sleepnumber mattress with ability to adjust both head and leg ... and a nice line of barbed wire down the center to keep him on his side of the bed during the night.
