Waiting to hear/see the dude with whom I had a 9 pm appointment. He texted around 6pm to push back from 8.30, OK by me. Texted when I left home and when I arrived at hotel (4 minutes late). Almost 20 mins later I'm still here, no response. Have I fulfilled my duties? (In law school walk time for late professors was 10 mins.)

I guess that depends on how badly you want to see him. Once you hit the point where you're so annoyed that it will ruin the session, you might as well send one more text saying you couldn't wait any longer. You don't even owe him that but it's taking the high road.

I agree....10 min max.

Then a polite text to confirm that he is coming.

Wait 5 min for a response...then bail.

My record waiting for an escort is over 2 hours...but he kept texting every 10 minutes saying

he was on his way. I had nothing else to do that night and it became a sick game of morbid

curiosity see if he was actually gonna show up. He was intensely earnest in his texts, and in

fact he did finally make it..and we had a great time...but I would never repeat....like I'm gonna

wait around for 2 hours every time I wanna see you?...lmao

Yeah, I'm home.

Texted him a "Still here, you here? Am I at the right hotel? about 10 minutes after the text when I hit the lobby, gave him another 20 minutes, then sent him a "see ya" text. Way too long, especially sitting in a hotel lobby where I'm not registered just checking texts and looking mildly embarrassed. Kicker - his ad says "please be respectful of my time."

Only waited as long as I did b/c of my last no-show a while back. Guy never showed (out call to my hotel, thankfully), left him VM not to come after half an hour. He called me a couple of hours later very apologetic. He's a dancer who was injured in an afternoon rehearsal for "Broadway Bares' (a benefit for HIV/AIDS organizations), sent me pictures of his swollen knee and an event poster with his pic. As it turns out, I was actually in town to go to the benefit, so story was entirely legit. Met up with him and his boyfriend next time I was in NYC. Sadly, it was pretty lame.

Think I'll wait to see if he bothers to send an explanation before I block him. Not that I'll respond, just curious. (Just happened to see that he logged onto RM a minute or so ago and turned off his "Available Now" light, which was on when I left for his hotel. That always bothers me, but different rant for a different day.

What a shame. His pics are incredibly hot. And I wasted a perfectly good Cialis. :(:D

You didnt ask for his room number before meeting? At least with that you could have gone up to the room, and even if no one answered/wrong person answered lol. You wouldn't had to wait for 30 minutes.

Thought about that, but on an in-call to an escort's hotel room, it's too awkward for my tastes to risk running into his last client if he's overbooked or gone too long. And, I guess I kinda have an expectation that I'm hiring a grown-up, professional businessman. It's not my job to track him down. But, yeah, 30 minutes was way too long to waste on him. 15 minutes is more than fair, and about the time waiting around becomes a boner killer. A lesson I hope never to need to use in the future.

P.S. No amount of hotness is worth disrespect. That same dancer you talked about could have sent a 5 second text saying he couldn't show up instead of calling hourssss later. Its all about respect. Plus if he never showed up how do you even know those "hot pics" were of him anyways :p

In his defense, Dancer Dude did say he slept through the appointment and my call b/c of painkillers. I did meet him and his swollen knee at the benefit, and he gave me a very nice kiss (ok, a few of them and a bit more) in a secluded corner of the theater where the benefit was held ;):D Nice way to apologize!

I agree with the posters above... I've got about a 10 min window max, and then my patience runs out. I usually arrive a few minutes early, and at the exact time of the appointment I send a text letting them know I've arrived and I'm in the car. If an escort is running late and needs some time to prep, not a problem, but if I don't get a response back...At the 10 min mark I text and tell them I'm on my way home, and I mean it.

more important to me is communication, rather than the number of minutes I'll wait in a lobby......if communication is sincere and he periodically updates, I'll give them some leeway.....if I've met the dude before, that helps.....

everybody has an escort-is-late horror story!

I guess I'm more lenient. I'd wait 30 especially if he texted he was running late. I might not sit in the lobby though. Might look odd. I might get a drink at the bar if there was one.

The key issue is if they are keeping you informed. If they are, then that is good. Agree that going to the bar is better than just sitting in the lobby.

Learned my lesson when I drove 200 miles & checked into a hotel for a booking with a well reviewed escort @ his place. While driving to his place he text me to say he was running late & put back the time by an hour so I parked up. When I got there no answer when I rang the door bell & his phone was switched off. I waited around for a while repeatedly ring the bell & calling. Eventually I gave up, went back to the hotel. The meet was for 8pm & imagine my surprise when he text me @ 3 in the morning saying he had fallen asleep & his phone battery was flat. Yeah right!

In a way that qualifies as stranger than fiction. In that the story is so improbable that it might actually be true. I'm not saying that I'd believe it but it might just be true. Whether I would forgive him is an entirely separate question!

Well he expected me to check out & go back to his place for the meet but let the cat out of the bag when he wanted me to tell him how long it would take cos he needed to get ready cos he'd only just got home!

Really sorry this happened - I know this is hugely frustrating. What's his RM screen name ?

Thanks for the advice and sympathies, all!

Wow, too bad.

He looks HOT.

I'd say my "no show" experience with travellers is 10 times higher than with locals.

One of several reasons I avoid travellers at all cost.

All good perspectives. I was kept cooling my heels in a hotel lobby for about 15 minutes recently without comms. Not a good way to start trust-building. A friendly "gimme 5-just got out of the showers" is much appreciated.

Because of my ocd about being on time (usually 30 mins early) I can happily say that I've never been late for an appointment. Knock on wood.

Hugs,

Greg

We are OCD Soul Sisters. I lose my shit if I am even 3 or 4 minutes late for anything. Fortunately, I am more patient with other people in most circumstances. I only get annoyed by tardiness if I am waiting for them at a restaurant.
