Last Minute Cash Upfront Requests.

Allow me to turn the tables a bit. I was suppose to see a client on this past Tuesday, we chatted via text for about 4 days, on Monday he said "just so you know I am not paying until the end" I simply replied "ok". We chatted throughout the day about expectations etc, he ended the texting on Monday with, "I will provide you hotel info tomorrow and you are ok being paid at the end". At this point, the red flag started coming out, I said I already answered that question, why do you keep bring it up? His response was "I have had escorts take the money and leave in the past", I explained I am not other escorts and you can check my reviews. About 20 mins later he replies, I am sorry I read your reviews I can trust you, remember I never mentioned when I wanted to be paid. No harm, just a misunderstanding and the client had issues in the past, I get it. Tuesday (day of meeting) I wake up to a text "looking forward to tonight, staying at xyz hotel but haven't booked it yet, I just want to be clear I am paying at the end". At this point my red flag was way up and I said I am sorry I am going to pass, so was I right or wrong in passing on this client? Is it acceptable for a client to continue stating he is paying at the end? I never mention ever to clients when I want the payment, and 9 times out of 10 its at the end.

Nope--you were right to pass. This one sounds like a flake.

I've only paid at the end, except for long weekend appointments when I don't want to carry all that cash, I pay half upfront.

It is very rare that I have been asked to pay upfront. I would have no problem with it in case of a first hire with a new escort. If, well in advance, he would say something like 'for first time clients I would prefer to be paid upfront, when you arrive'. That's fine. I understand that the guy may be concerned about getting stiffed. But if it is a last minute request, that gives me the creeps. I object more the last minute than to the upfront aspect of it.

If I was an escort, I would probably opt for a 50/50 Rule---you cough up half the rate at the start (a deposit without saying as such....so even if it all just craps, you still get something for your trouble), and the other 50% at the end of the task.

Always follow your gut stud. After discussing it, him reading your reviews, and then him still going on about it...he was giving you a bad vibe. It probably would have been in your head the whole time that this guy was going to pull something at the end, so best for both (even if had no bad intentions) to cancel. He may also learn something about how to handle meeting arrangements.

No, it's not. He said it once, that's fine, after that he is restating something that had been agreed, you would have been right to kick him into touch (i.e. tell him to fuck off).

This is very interesting.

I have never even been asked for the payment. When all is said and done and done, showered and dressed, I bring it up. Sometimes, if we go out to eat afterwards, payment isn't even brought up until it's time for me to go bye. Once we forgot altogether and I turned around to go back and pay.
