well calling people tranny could be part of your problem. That word hasn't been used to identify a transgender individuals in ages. If that is part of your vernacular then it is possible you may be offending people. It could also be that you won't post photos, that is a red flag for many of us that are hiring. Also transgender individuals are not guys in dresses. I suggest you read up a bit on transgender individuals and how they identify. I would not call it a fetish any more than a straight guy escorting for gay men. There are men that enjoy the company of transgender individuals both male to female and female to male. I am not transgendered and quite frankly I find your post a bit offensive. Not the fact that you are uneducated about the topic but the lack of empathy, flippant comments and dismissive attitude to a group of human beings. I find it sad and hope that you will take the time to talk to somebody that is transgender and learn more about who they are.

Ok, you've been properly chastised about using the term "tranny." It had to happen if you are truly interested in not being offensive.

With that in mind, your question about it being new. It's not. I have no idea whether it would be considered a fetish or not.

There has always been a pretty healthy market for male-to-female trans sex workers. If you look on Flirt4free you will see dozens of web cams. There are plenty of guys who are into it. Plenty of guys who like the female form and a penis to play with. I can't explain it any more than I can explain anything else that I'm not personally into, but I don't try. It's their thing and it is what it is.

What I think is a little newer is the female-to-male trans sex worker. As our own FTM is finding out, that might be a smaller market. Just because guys who like the male form probably want that penis to play with? I don't really know. It's becoming more common though. There is a very young trans guy advertising here in Austin.

I am not so hyper-sensitive about the use of the word 'tranny'. I think it sounds cute, it rhymes with 'nanny'. What is the big deal? No need to be so PC all the time. Being PC is the new Puritanism. But that's a different subject altogether.

I will say that I have recently been looking into trans/tranny myself because one of my male friends is into them and I wanted to learn more. I don't know about them so I looked it up. Here in NYC, I was ASTONISHED to see HOW MANY trans/tranny escort ads there really are. On a daily basis, Backpage New York City alone has about 1OO-15O of them. I find that amazing. Like you, I would have thought it was a very 'fringe' thing, but it seems very common. Here is just one example:

http://newyork.backpage.com/TranssexualEscorts/

Many of them look better than 'real' women - mainly because of the huge investment they make in plastic surgery, hormones, wigs and make up. And let's not forget the expense of high heels and fetish bras and pantyhose. The expense to achieve that 'look' is huge. A 'normal' woman, for lack of a better word, doesn't have the time or the money to achieve that 'look'. Sadly, because the trans lack of real job opportunities, many resort to prostitution as a way to pay for all the surgeries. It is deplorable that they don't have many other career opportunities. A select few become fashion models, and recently a modelling agency focused on trans models has opened. I am not sure how well they are doing. The fashion industry is not as progressive as you would think it is. I sincerely wish that societal attitudes change and that trans face less discrimination in the work place.

Unlike the rituals scoring an appointment with a gay escorts, trans escorts tend to get hired on a spur of the moment basis, and typically very late at night or during the early morning. It is entirely different from what we are used to. It seems far riskier to be a trans escort than a male escort. But they charge more - in NYC 3OO-4OO is the norm. So, I would think they make really good money, and the sheer volume of ads on Backpage or on more upscale sites like Eros.com shows that there is a market supporting this.

So, to answer your question. It is definitely a 'THING'. My friends in Europe tell me that it is actually 'HOT' to be trans over there.

I'm not offended by the word tranny but then again I'm not trans. With that said, I've had two tranny roommies back when I was in Seattle. Both deep down good folk. One I lost track of. The other moved to AZ and is working in the medical office field and doing well for herself and I'm quite proud of her. Neither girls had issues if I or the other roomies called them trany becayse they would call themselves that as well. Tranny power! As for trannys escorting, I can't comment on that.

Hugs,

Greg

Do you also think it's "cute" when you are called a fag? It rhymes with nag and sag and tag and all kinds of fun things, so it must be okay.

It wasn't directed at you because you are a hopeless case my sweet young thing. ;)

I can call you fag because we are both part of the group. I cannot call you wet back because I'm not part of that group. It's one of those kind of things. You have to be part of the group to use derogatory terms without it being offensive. You can call it PC all you want, but it's really just CD -- common decency.

Thats partially true. I have been known to use those words and a few other words around family and friends. One shocking word, nigga always makes me giggle when I drop it and get told I cant use such a word even though the other person just used it and it's obvious I didnt use the other N word.

Greg I think there is a big difference between sort of having the ok to call somebody a derogatory nickname because of the company you keep and others who use those words because they want to imitate Donald trump, be an asshole, get a rise out of somebody, or do it out of ignorance. you are right some people don't mind it, some don't mind queer, some don't mind nigger, some don't mind cunt. I personally hate queer, I was called it too many times growing up and it has a negative connotation for me. I don't at all think you had any malice or ill will intention.

Wow. This post is about as obnoxious as the first one. From the refusal to show respect toward someone different, about which you know little, and its cheap dismissal as "PC," to the jaw-dropping dribble about 'real' women, you have given new meaning to assholery.

That reminds me of that South Park episode in which Stan's father was playing "Wheel of Fortune," and he had to guess the word with the clue "Annoying people," with the letters N?GGER. The answer was "nagger," but Stan's father ventured the wrong guess. And yes, the word "tranny" is fairly offensive. I must confess that I've thought of hiring a FTM, because I've wanted to know what it feels like to screw a man with a real cunt, something I've never done. All of the FTM's I've thought of hiring though, have had too many tattoos for me to find them attractive. So I haven't yet, but one of these days I think I'll find a FTM that I find attractive and hire him.

I agree with the criticism to western love for PC. You should speak your mind, so we all know who is a bigot and an asshole.

But there's a big difference between "the expression of an idea" and just slinging slurs. If someone wants to voice their idea that transsexualism is a myth, morally unacceptable, delusional, detrimental to society, have at it. I could learn a lot from their being wrong. If

someone just wants to call a stranger a "tranny," however, an appropriate response to demeaning behavior is to call them out -- which is what PC is about.

That better word is cisgender, but I suspect that's too respectful/"PC" for youur tastes.:p

His " research," conducted because he acknowledged he knows little about the subject, consisted of checking out the escort ads on Backpage. I suspect he will fail the midterm exam and have to drop the class...
