+ honcho Posted January 9, 2016 Share Posted January 9, 2016 I'm going to go out on a limb and claim that most of the eyeglasses represented here are just props. If you look at #8, however, he really is wearing significant nearsighted-correct lenses because it distorts the edge of his face - it jumps inward while viewed through the glasses. #18 and #22 might be. #27 is wearing reading glasses because the contour of his face jumps outwards (magnifiers, and noticeably so). I used to wear about 8 diopter lenses, and then my left eye got significantly worse - up to about 11 (including astigmatism) due to cataracts. I thought wearing the glasses I had to were not flattering at all ... last summer I had cataract surgery and now only have to wear glasses while driving, or carving oboe reeds. + Truereview and hornytwells 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

As for the photos we can actually see, I prefer the ones that look more natural, less "I just stuck glasses I don't need on my face for the effect." I agree with Honcho (though for different reasons) that most of these are props. I have hereditary bags under my eyes. (They're actually fat deposits, but they look like bags.) So I'm actually thankful for my glasses, although not so thankful that my frames came apart and I had to get new glasses. It was time, though; I'd had them for seven years. It was, as you expect, a sexy calendar a la FDNY or Dieux de Stade. There was this one dude, librarian, glasses, hot bod, hair in the right places and amounts and I knew him from rugby.
