I don't make New Year's resolutions because I never keep them.

 

That's why, when I started going to the gym, I started on Dec 27 last year. That way it wasn't a New Years resolution and I knew I could keep at it. Even the holidays aren't safe for me--I've gone to the gym on Christmaas Eve, July 4, my birthday, New Year's Eve. I always go when I can. But, I swear, if I had called it a New Years resolution, I would have only lasted a week.

 

So, this year my New Years resolution is never to make a New Years resolution. :D

im going to loose 20 lbs. I really mean it this time >.<

now let me just finish that big box of almond rocas so it doesn't tempt me on the 1st :p

Try Nutrisystem. I just lost 20 pounds on it in 2 months. Must be combined with an exercise program. I wish you luck in your endeavor!!!

I was talking to my next-door neighbor, giving him the new keys to my house, and somewhat jokingly asked if he was finally going to quit smoking this year. He said he'd try, and had a New Year's resolution suggestion for me. He said "You should have your next domestic partner be a companion, rather than a sexual partner." He's around my age. He said "I'll tell you what my father told me. Marry a woman who will take good care of your children and be helpful in the household. For sexual gratification, hire prostitutes." (He's been married for almost 30 years). I guess that sounds like good advice, but I'm wondering how exactly one goes about that. Do I just go around looking for men my own age, then let them know I'm just after a companion, but want to get my jollies elsewhere? Are there men out there who are really just looking around for platonic companionships? It seems like that's just a good friend you live with. I guess that works out?
