It's not just ass.

 

There's a latino kid who does janitorial/maintenance work around my office complex. I alway thought he was cute and he has a smile that will just make your heart melt. But he always wears such baggy clothes that nobody can really tell what's "in there".

Totally agree with Rick about the wish that tight or at least less baggy trous and jeans and swim suits would find there way back, SOON.

I thought that this baggy look, which I was told originated in prisons and found its way to the "street" would pass like other fads. It doesn't seem to be happening.

I have a theory. In Canada--not just Montreal, but Toronto, London, Hamilton, etc. young men are much less likely to wear baggy pants than here in America. I believe it has something to do with the innate homophobia the USA still harbours. Europeans have no compunction about appearing in tight little bikini type bathing suits. In fact, most of them snicker when they see what American youths wear to the beach---with underwear underneath all that fabric!!!

Could it be that young American men/boys are just terrified that they WILL be looked at by men??? American culture seems to have no problems with young women showing more skin than clothing. Hopefully, the designers, stylists, movers and shakers in the clothing industry will put an end to this over-dressed or at least over-fabriced period. I'm waiting, and hoping.

My summer time lament has always been those big baggy bathing suits. Why anyone would want to swim wearing a circus tent is beyond me. My only hope is that the weight of all that wet fabric will pull them down as they get out of the water. So far this wish remains unfufilled.

Sad that kids today don't seem to realize this is when their bodies will be the most attractive, although I'm appalled at the size of some of them. It is ironic that as men's clothes get bigger, women's get smaller. I'm beginning to think fashion designers aren't really gay.

Baggy and long trunks also help conceal undertrained lower bodies. Most young guys focus on having a nice upper body..abs chest arms...in anticipation of going to the beach and neglect the legs. I would wager that a number of them would refer to their legs as their least favorite body part...perhaps using a term like "chicken legs".

 

It also helps avoid the entire visible penis line/endowment/visible erection issue that comes into play at a beach surrounded by all those attractive bodies. Few young guys are going to want to scream "Hey check out my erection! I think this girl is HOT!"

 

And if they do....I would like to meet them.

ditto, foxy. For the last five or six years especially, looking up and around the beach has been dismall to say the least . . .the guys have those bulkie long panted "swim suits". I though there was a new fade with bikinis for men starting up -- but, I haven't seen any.

 

The only "good looks" at the beach are foreign students; as in German guys who show everything from the make up of their package to the dimple in the cheeks, you can tell they are uncut twenty feet away. But that's about it.

 

Even baskeball players used to wear attractive above the knee uniforms. Now , those baggy pants again.

 

The way it is, you just can't tell whose shaving their pubic hair anymore. But, for some reason, I still give turn my head up from the blanket and matter of factly chang position on the beach to possibly get a treat. Somtimes you get lucky.x(

I agree with everyone here I miss it. I was at breakfast this morning and a guy and his gf came in he had on a very tight small t and a pair of low rise tight pants oh my he was soooooooo hot I couldn't stop looking at him.

That's funny, because to me, the long flowing T-shirts that resemble ladies dresses and the long baggy shorts that resemble ladies skirts look much "faggier" than tighter fitting clothes that accentuate and emphasize the male physique and genitalia. And then of course there's the eyebrow waxing, diamond earrings, and Joey Heatherton-esque hairdos that complete the feminized look for many straight & gay twentysomethings today. Have you ever seen a soldier or a state trooper in loose, baggy clothes? No, they wear clothes that fit snugly, and they are the epitome of hyper-masculinity.
