A Florida woman is now the subject of an animal cruelty investigation thanks to the backlash she received on social media after posting a photograph of her dog with its mouth duct-taped shut.

 

Katie Brown of South Daytona, Florida, posted a photo of her chocolate Labrador with duct tape on its muzzle on Friday, captioning the photo, “This is what happens when you dont shut up!!!” The photo was quickly shared hundreds of thousands of times, with seemingly the entire internet calling for blood:

I have used on one occasion a leash that went over the mouth in walking one of my dogs that tends to be a bit overly playful and likes to mouth the head of smaller dogs. It seemed excessive so now I just keep her back from smaller dogs. How sad does this dog look? and it is really hard to get a lab to look sad.

That's going to hurt coming off. I'm not sorry to say she's a cunt for doing this! There are far less abrasive ways of teaching the dog not to bark so much.

There are two things that make my blood boil, the mistreatment of animals and kids. Now I'm fucking fuming. I hope she gets a harsh punishment for animal cruelty!!!!!! :mad::mad:

It apparently didn't take long for a reaction to the Facebook post. Local police said they had lots of people contacting them to investigate but there was confusion as to where the poster is - Florida or Connecticut. Animal abuse should be a felony (too often its not) and there should be more lists of those who have been convicted of animal abuse so shelters and other responsible parties can look up a candidate before an animal is adopted or sold.

 

The abuser, Katie Lemansky Brown, has admitted she taped the dogs mouth. I suspect she will, appropriately, be a pariah for quite some time. Hopefully we hear the dog has been adopted into a good home and Katie is languishing in prison. Regardless, she won't get a punishment any of us animal lovers find sufficient.

yes, but one thing is a muzzle, other thing is duct tape, besides you were just a responsible dog owner.

The picture with the dog peeing on the Romney sign is just the muzzle I used. The mouther is sitting here next to me chewing on a denstix. At least the next time she engulfs another dog's head, she will not have doggie breath.

Don't use a muzzle to control barking. Be patient and train. If someone can't they shouldn't have a dog. There is no law that says someone has to have a dog so either be a good parent or forego being one at all. That shouldn't be too complicated for someone to understand.

 

And we should go "John Wick" on people who mistreat animals.

My brother's Maltiepoo LOVED getting her head engulfed by their gigantic black Lab. She would walk up to the lab and sit in front of him waiting to get engulfed. Even cuter was when the lab would pick her up in his mouth and walk around the house with her.
