Who is Tyler?

The OP was tedbear. No where in this thread does the OP mention meeting anyone.

I'm confused. :(

Oops I was referring to mattr's thread on almost this exact same topic. The thread then died once Tyger (Portland) responded and all was well.

I can come up with an endless list of reasons as to why I may not respond to a client or potential client. Some include:

  • You failed my background check process. In this case, your email address or phone number become blocked immediately. This accounts for about 15% to 20% of all contact attempts.

Hi Kurtis - I liked what you wrote. What is your background check process? What does it consist of? I am surprised that 15-20% of all inquiries get blocked because of it, it seems like a high rejection rate. I am just curious about it, so that I don't make that mistake as a prospective client of yours. Thanks!

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing... I make sure that none of my communication channels with escorts are able to be traced back to my real life persona, for discretion, naturally. So is that a reason to get blocked? That you can't reverse search information on a client?

OK - I'm a little pissed off and need some help from the members in deciding if I'm unreasonable or have unrealistic expectations of an escort's obligation to meet what I perceive to be implied commitments.

Two similar scenarios: escort advertises visit to city, client contacts escort to arrange meeting and pleasantries exchanged, when day approaches a time and location are agreed upon (i.e., Monday, 3:00pm, at Hotel X at 123 Main St.), client arranges business schedule to meet escort, escort cancels with little/no notice, reason given is financial.

Scenario 1: escort cancels evening before agreed-upon time - text message cryptic but seems that price of flight is the issue.

Scenario 2: escort emails that flight delayed & client re-rearranges schedule; escort emails 3 hours after meeting time and says that a regular client happens to be in town and has hired him for the weekend. Sorry.

Common element#1 - communications were all via text & email; I'm learning that this invites problems, though I'm not sure it would have changed anything in either case.

Common element#2 - client mistakenly interprets escorts' visits as being rock-solid commitment after time & location decided rather than tentative and based on some other criterion.

Common element #3 - escorts' decisions are based purely on the business case - expenses vs. income - it's nothing personal.

So kids - does client need to put on his big-girl panties and accept the fact that IT'S A BUSINESS and it's not always going to be a win-win. Or, is client's consternation justified at having rearranged his schedule and made arrangements based on a good-faith assumption that agreement was a commitment which was not honored?

I bet you get different answers from different providers. I would say I stick to first-come-first-serve if someone has made an honest commitment and schedule and seems legit. But if it's a weekly regular vs. "Hey I'll be visiting town on Tuesday getting in at 5 call you when I arrive." Then I'll go with the regular.

In your scenarios I would say they should give you more notice and give you the opportunity to match the offer at least. :p No it's a tough call, but frustrations happen on both sides.

I give everyone at least 24 hours to respond to any electronic communication. If I need to communicate with someone sooner, I call them. Sometimes I text before calling to see if its a good time to talk. I am no longer tethered to my phone/email/text and my life is better for that freedom. I also find people respect my time more because I'm not available 24/7. Customers though do get priority as they should but I tell them they can call 7 days a week and on off hours calling is better than emailing or texting.
