He is a scammer. Tells you that since you are a new un-referred client, he wants payment in the form of a gift card or prepaid credit card. This is to protect both parties from the police apparently. Once you get the card he tells you to send him a picture of the front and back so that he can verify the amount. If you don't send the pictures he will come up with some excuse to back out of the appointment or simply just go awol. Luckily my partner had the sense to not send pictures of the card number, expiration date and security code, and only lost $4.95 to pay for the card, an hour of his time and some gas. He did say it was a little thrilling to go through the little scavenger hunt and then figure out the scam before losing money. So maybe it was worth the $4.95?
