When a client says "I’m looking for a twentysomething white top" is that racist or is it a personal preference?

In some cases it can be taken as both, Steven. I think you have an idea how me and Steven Kesslar felt about that particular thread. In this particular case, this Whitman guy is stating point blank he refuses to sleep with a black or latino client like people of color are a disease of some sort.

To me, and most people(especially in the black community) that's considered as being racist if someone is pointing out bluntly they wont touch or be seen with a person of color. When someone cold-heartedly puts they're preference into such harsh terms like that - that's can come off as being a racist. There is no getting around that scenario - unfortunately.

Who knows. Some people have a fuck list. Maybe a white 20 something is next on the list! I am really not attracted to Asian guys, but I love Asian women (yes, I'm bi). Does that make me a racist??

I don't think that makes you racist cause you prefer Asian women. At least you like Asians of some kind. This person is stating he wants nothing to do with Black or Latino at all - Period. I think that defines racist in most people's eyes. LOL. You're situation is not of someone who is viciously racist.

If he's not going to perform well for certain types of clients, better to know that in advance.

+1

I have no problem with any color or race, but I understand that some may have their own preference as stated in the thread "Looking for a twentysomething white top"

I don't blame them for that and I don't think that's being "racist" either.

Personally, I think that some people are being too touchy, probably more in the US than in Europe over this question.

I do think you are probably right. A flat out No about a certain race smacks of racism. And for the record, there are lots of hot Asian guys that I would love to be with. I'm just more attracted to other types.

Wow. Forget whether it's preference or prejudice, if this is his business he ain't gonna get too far with that attitude. I do appreciate his honesty tho.

Exactly Todd...For the record, he was quite cordial, and with me at least, delicate in his responses. And I did thank him for his honesty. Saved me time, money, and a whole lot of aggravation. It's just sad to me when people become dismissive of that sort of racism. In my eyes it's not entirely different than the Confederate Flag debate, where people spun it's meaning to be a symbol of something other than....

So, when a black man tells me he only dates white guys, is he being racist or stating a preference?

Personally, I'd say he's being racist. Black people can be racist too.

Here what the difference is to me:

Someone with a racial preference will state that, "really into _________ guys, but open to all" or "______ to the front of the line, but open to all."

Someone who's racist will state, "No ____________" or "_________only"

There you go - exactly the point I've would have made as you hit it right on the mark, Billy.

Thank you!!!

Couldn't have pointed it out better myself. :)

This is a very touchy subject. Sex is a touchy subject too. Combine them together as we have in this innocent sounding LA Recommendation Thread and now we have a big conflagration as we might have predicted. I think we need to get back to some basics.

First-we all discriminate as it regards whom we are attracted to. Otherwise we would all be attracted to everyone.

Second-we aren't asking Spencer whether he would go out to a movie or catch a bite to eat with a person of color. We are talking about sex.

Third-I'm going to presume that while Spencer is versatile, he's hired more as a top as he has an incredible tallywacker. (Yes, I've seen it in person-twice. And no he didn't top me. )

Fourth-If he isn't attracted to men of color, perhaps he can't get hard with them.

Now as bad as it sounds when he writes it down, wouldn't it be worse for all concerned if Spencer didn't realize the client was a man of color, they get together, and Spencer can't perform? Then you have an unhappy client, possibly an unhappy escort, and sometimes a not very flattering review.

While I am not for discrimination in general, I think much as SCOTUS has allowed race-based admissions in certain specialized. circumstances to stand, so must we also give some weight to attraction in the sexual arena.

Not every escort is for every client and vice versa. The interactions we have here as escort and client are not the usual day-to-day interactions we have with most people (unless of course you have sex with everyone you meet). If, for whatever reason, Spencer can't perform with a certain type group or groups of people, it's better that he warn people beforehand.

He's stating a preference, I'd say. Racism is more than just preference. It is preference + power. Oppression is not just a matter of taste.

I definitely know where you're coming from Gman, and what you're trying to get across, the problem I'm having with your argument is that it marks MORE sense when talking about simple attraction, and not escorting.

Call me crazy, but I'm pretty sure most of his client, his not generally attracted to. If a fat, bald, overweight, ugly white guy hires him, how does he manage to keep an erection?

PS: I don't want you to think I'm attacking you Gman, or anyone who has a different opinion. I just find this topic fascinating.

There are also escorts that discriminate against clients based on these criteria, and it's better to know that in advance as well. It's odd that the escort usually get supported in this instance. There's also another thread discussing an escort, who possesses some of these characteristics himself. And the escort is being ridiculed.

While race and weight are not the same thing, at the end of the day, this is a very intimate and personal undertaking. If there are conditions or circumstances in which an escort knows he can't perform, isn't better to know about that in advance?
