I've also wondered about this... Now I want to preface this with saying that my "type" is basically any guy that I find hot and attractive. In the past I've been attracted to guys from any race, age or body type. "If he's hot, he's hot!" I always say.

Having said that, there are certain physical traits that make it easier for me to be attracted: dark hair, bushy eyebrows, body hair, five o' clock shadow, strong nose. And I do love (but not prefer) the look of olive colored skin.

But I only want to have sex with men and only men. Does this make me misogynistic?

I just pose the question to show that I don't know whether a sexual preference or dislike for certain races sits in the realm of racism.

There's a similar debate about trans people too. I've seen gay men be called transphobic because they said they wouldn't have sex with a male to female trans person. But... They're gay, so if the trans person has completely become female, isn't it to be expected that a gay man won't be attracted sexually?

But I do think that guys that make sweeping refusals based on race are definitely missing out! Beauty, hotness and cuteness can be found in any race, age or body type.

I'm like that, too. I can find members of every race attractive, not just one color or set of features associated with one race. Ryan Gosling looks nothing like Taye Diggs or Russell Wong, they all look yummy to me.

I think if you only exclusively look for one race, one color and the typical features that go with it , that is racism. Not racism in the really bad KKK sort of way, many people who only sleep with whites may still believe a person of a different race can be worthy of being their boss ,their neighbor, their friend, or their President. 'Racism' is such a historically charged word with such bad connotations, while 'personal preference' is so much safer sounding. I even see racism in myself, when I grew up all the most popular guys in high school were white, every movie star I lusted after was white, and only later in life did I expand my horizons of whom I considered attractive, and it is something that is still evolving for me.

Not only history, but media representations fuel what the larger society will consider attractive. Caucasian features are historically considered desirable. Someone like Vanessa Williams -light skinned, green eyed, mixed race - could be considered Miss America material long before someone like Lupita Nyongo, who is more traditionally African in appearance. Even in Asia itself, you see all these plastic surgeries for double-fold eyelids and to enhance the bridge of the nose. In porn, guys like Matthew Rush were cast in non-intentionally interracial flicks long before more traditionally African looking guys. I think the industry still looks for more Matthew Rush, Sean Zevran, Austin Wilde types- light skinned with Caucasian features. For Asians there are even fewer porn stars like Peter Le (is he really that well-known? Is any Asian?) Sean Cody just went interracial a few short years ago, when the model 'Landon' flipped with a white guy. Think about it...it is the number on gay porn subscription site, and it was lily white until recently.

I believe that misogyny is a general hatred of and belief that women are inferior to men. Sexual preference is not founded on a belief that women are inferior, simply that a person has found that wherever the urge originates it makes him want to have sex with men only.

The thing about mixed race was beautifully summarized in the sitcom "Happy Endings": "Mixed race is God's Photoshop."

And I believe that to be true. Many of the most gorgeous guys I've seen are of a mixed heritage, and not nessecarilly with Caucasian mixed in either.

I think nature itself may be programmed to encourage racial interbreeding: since too much interbreeding in one racial gene pool causes degeneration of the genetic material while mixing with other races potentially strengthens the gene pool by adding more variety, thus upping survival chances. So I think maybe the beauty of mixed race may be an evolutionary benefit :D Since mixed race people would be more "desirable" as mating partners (because of their beauty and hotness). I say this half in jest of course, but green eyes, for instance, are specifically activated by interracial breeding. And say what you will, but green eyes are beautiful to me, especially when the person has darker skin, so they stand out even more.

Well this may mark me as a bigot, but I prefer Northern European types. That doesn't mean I can't be attracted to a Mediterranean or other type but my favorites are muscular N. European/stereotypical muscular American Midwest/muscular red-haired types.

Green eyes are nice and can definitely be arresting but so can blue. I don't think I've ever picked or rejected someone for their eye color before. Truth be told-the main place I notice eye color is in photos. I'm not sure how much I notice eyes in person. They are just part of the gestalt of attractiveness. Now I do occasionally notice eyelashes-longer eyelashes being more attractive (mine are short and stubby). But again the main time I notice the eyelashes are when I've already met the guy and am pretty darn close to him.

As for my preference for N. Europeans-maybe this anecdote will explain that it's a preference of longstanding.

So when I was a child and thought about Adam and Eve-I'm talking probably 4 to 6 years old-I thought Eve must have been incredibly beautiful. And when I pictured her in my mind's eye, I could only picture her as a blonde. Now I don't know if I had seen a television show or commercial that depicted Eve as blonde. But I just couldn't imagine her as being a brunette.

Then one day I was at the doctor's office and was reading the child's picture Bible. I'm sure many Americans on here will either remember this book from their childhood or know about this book from having children. It was a book of illustrated biblical tales for children. The cover is blue and green. When I was growing up you couldn't find a pediatrician's or family practitioner's office waiting room without one (along with Highlights Magazine-I loved Goofus and Gallant and The Timbertoes. ). So in this Bible, there was a picture of Eve in the Garden of Eden probably wearing leaves. This Eve had light brown hair. And I thought the picture was beautiful. It was the first time that I could see that Eve could be beautiful without blonde hair. But my initial attraction was for a blonde.

So my attraction for European features-especially Northern European-was set long ago. I remember someone posted that video awhile back of handsome men representing various cultures idea of beauty/handsomeness. Several posters on here said that they found the mixed race model most attractive. I thought he was a handsome guy. But I wasn't particularly attracted to him. Of course if by some miracle he suddenly appeared in my bed, I wouldn't have thrown him out. But, and I can't remember specific models, there is a good chance if I had to make a choice between him and a European model, I would have picked the European. Possibly it could partially have been that specific model, I'm pretty sure I've seen mixed race models I consider much handsomer than the one in that video.

PS I am however somewhat eclectic-I have found men other than Caucasians to be attractive.

This, absolutely. In the sense that I have a preference too, but not for Northern European types but for Mediterranean. I was just being careful stating my preference. :D

I like long lashes too, these can be very beautiful on a guy.

This is the Bible book where I found my brunette Eve. The first volume of this series was always in my doctors' offices when I was a child.

Oh yeah, that book was in my Ped's office too. And, of course, my church's second-floor Sunday School classrooms. That blue is beautiful, work's perfectly.

While I can't remember any specifics, and I don't know if it matters a lot in Genesis, I think these stories were told with a Christian viewpoint. So I only saw it at my doctor's/dentist's office not at my temple.

Let me say that I know receiving a letter like that is hurtful. I'd feel the same way if someone said they didn't see Jews. I've had escorts tell me they don't see guys as fat as I am and that wasn't pleasant either. Just about no one one is totally free from prejudice. Haven't most of the best escorts on the Forum said at various times that they can focus on something with their clients that they are attracted to? In this case it looks like Spencer can't. While it may/does show a lack in Spencer because his dislike is so specific to one set of characteristics, I think as regards sex it is one of those special cases and he ought to be allowed his likes and dislikes. And even SCOTUS has said discrimination is legal in some cases. I'm not saying it isn't prejudiced. It is. But I have my own prejudices sexually. In general I don't want to have sex with guys with my own physique. I'm not saying it is right. It is what it is. In this case Spencer could be meeting these guys and giving crappy service. I give him props for being honest enough with potential clients to let them know ahead of time.

I will not bake a cake for Spencer. And I am unanimous in this.

Is anyone baking a cake for Spencer? And besides that most of the comments in this thread are over a year old at this point. So I'm wondering where you came across this thread. As regards the cake and the resumption of this thread, I'm so confused.
