CNN reported Saturday that a man was flying an ISIS flag at London's gay-pride parade, but it turned out to be a banner covered in sex toys.

 

CNN International reporter Lucy Pawle called in to the network after spotting the flag.

 

She reported that a man dressed in black and white "was waving what appeared to be a very bad mimicry but what appeared to be a very clear attempt to mimic the ISIS flag, the black-and-white flag with the distinctive lettering."

 

But both Pawle and her CNN colleagues, including anchor Suzanne Malveaux, don't seem to notice that the flag actually consists of images of dildos and butt plugs, rendered in the style of ISIS. Even Pawle noted the writing on the flag wasn't in Arabic, adding "It looks like it could be gobbledegook. But it’s very distinctive, the ISIS flag.”

Just another great example of poor reporting and observations by the news media.

 

Thanks, Rick for sharing these beautiful photos.

 

It is hilarious to read some of the stories and reactions of some of the right wing bigots in this country to this advance of civil justice. It does remind me of what happened when we decided that blacks were real people and deserved rights like whites. Some of the religious leaders need to read the new testament and understand what Jesus taught. LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.

Don't forget Minneapolis! My sister was visiting last week, and drove home to Minneapolis straight through Saturday in order to attend the parade.

Turkish police fired water cannon and rubber bullets at people gathered for the annual gay pride parade in central Istanbul, Reuters reported, citing its journalists there. Images of the dispersed LGBT crowd also emerged on social media.

 

Authorities have warned people gathered for the parade to clear the area, informing them they won’t be allowed to march, Reuters reported, citing Turkey's Dogan news agency.
