I guess this is a "What would you do?" post.

Recently I spied an ad on the "erotic services"

section of CL. It was by a straight guy looking for "lonely women" of all kinds, to get with, no charge. The ad included a link to a yahoo portfolio with over ten pix, and the guy is really hot!

On a whim, I contacted him, explained to him explicitly who I am and what I'm looking for, and offered to pay him for a totally non-sexual tickling scene.

He responded! Cautiously, but he seems to be interested, and sent me a few more pics (yowza!)

I've been totally open about what I'm looking for. And he, although a man of few words (e-mail wise) seems to be willing to set up an appointment.

Now, I'd like to know what you all think of this.

Obviously, there's a good chance I'm opening myself up to a s**tload of danger. Then again, it might be the opportunity of a lifetime (for a gal like me, in any case).

What do you think, O citizens of Hooville?

I will be outtatown for a long weekend, so I'll look forward to your replies when I get back!

Happy New Year all!!!!!! May all your fondest desires come true in 2004!

Here's what I really think. I think many gay men are turned on by the fantasy of hooking up (or some form thereof) with straight guys. And when they do, they are taking a huge risk ... which I think is part of the allure. If this type of risk turns you on and you want to take that risk, then knock yourself out. I think Matthew Sheppard took such a risk when he allowed two straight guys to lure him into thinking they were interested in him.

I for one don't see the attraction about "straight guys." Personally, I find gay men (some of them anyway) to offer everything I could ever want. So I never have a need to take such a risk.

Just keep in mind that this guy is a stranger, is straight (most likely), and posted an ad FOR WOMEN.

lonely women..........

Would be a clue or caution, since lonely women would have FEW friends or family. Would anyone miss them?

Just arrange to meet him at some public place. If he is the person in the pictures it would be unlikely that he would try something unsavory. If he does not show or you can't regocnize him from the pictures just walk away unnoticed. While this plan is not without flaws it's the best I have to offer.

I would agree that you should check him out in a public place first. Really gorgeous men can find more reliable ways of making money than trying to sell sexual services to straight women, so I am suspicious of ads like that

The weird and wacky world of craigslist ads! My friends and I enjoy scrolling through and finding the most outrageous profiles and propositions... the things people say they are willing to do to pay their rent! Unemployed construction workers, bored housewives, guys who's girlfriends are out of town and they gotta pay the bills... fantasies with an amateur twist. The question is whether and to what degree these are for real.

I doubt you are the first guy to contact this guy for services, even though he advertises for women. I've placed a few ads on craigslist, some of them with a "m4m or m4w" tag, partly to create a fantasy for guys, but also cuz I'm not averse to "alternative" situations with both men and women. However, of all the responses through all the ads, only one included a woman, and that was a m/f couple who I never ended up getting together with. All the rest were guys (which is fine, since I definitely prefer them!). I get the impression the vast majority of craigslist erotic services clients are men, and that anybody posting there discovers that soon enough.

Whether your guy is really looking for women or just trying to create a fantasy could be anybody's guess, though. Use your intuition on this one, but I agree with the other posters that it might make sense to meet somewhere neutral first to get a read on the situation. I also thought of Matthew Sheppard, as well as other more local examples I remember reading about from time to time. Maybe these are well-publicized but isolated examples and there is lot of safe fantasy-fulfillment and mutually-beneficial hook-ups going on that we never hear about, but I'd hate to find out the hard way!

With all the other appealing m4m choices available on craigslist and other places, though, personally I'd look elsewhere.

I think that we're all naturally bisexual. Then we allow ourselves to get conditioned out of it. I'd say, go for it, girl! And, personally, I'm not fond of the meeting in a neutral place idea, though it does have some real merit based on which neutral place y'all choose. (And why do we think that escorting is a lazy nono when a man is selling to women instead of other men, hmm? But let's not hijack Miss Trixie's thread to go there.) What I think that you should do would be to have/find a friend whom you call when you arrive at his door (before you ring the bell, I'd say) and whom you call again, at a certain time or before, when you leave to say that you're safe. It's worked for the kink community for years and years, not to mention the escort agencies. Have fun!

I use Craigs List quite a bit and on several occasions have emailed

a "straight boy" looking for $$ from women.

I have talked to quite a few boys that have said, that while they can

find women for free, it is very rare a women will pay for a boy.

I have met up on more than one occasion with "straight boys" that are

willing to have some simple sessions.

Living near the Berkeley Campus, I have found, especially on weekends, boys need simple spending money and are willing to get into

j/o sessions and a little bit more. But I have met two, as they say

"straight boys" that just like sex with men because they say, with women they get emotionaly involved and with men, they just have fun sex. I have been able to weed out most of the flakes that I talk to online thru Craigslist, but overall, I have had pretty good luck.

Most of the boys there are newer to playing and usually it takes a little more work than hiring an established escort. But for me, the results have been pretty good.

RE: Straight guys

Well I do have to agree with you to a certain extent, Bubblebutt. I'm not one to go fishing in the "straits" most of the time, not for plain ol' sex, in any case. And certainly not for LUV.

However, when one has an unorthodox fetish, such as mine for tickling, the temptation to "do" someone who'd normally be taboo is very, very strong.

A situation like this is a rush or thrill comparable to having sex in an elevator, or in the back of a cab for the 'nilla crowd, (for me anyway.)

I've been perfectly clear with this guy about how uninterested I am in his u-know-what, and that no semen shall be spilt, by either party.

Fetishes like new things, and this is definitely a new thing.

Thank you all for pondering my dilemma! I think you offered some good advices and certainly sounded off on some hesitations that have already haunted my imagination.

I don't really feel that this guy is actually dangerous. He may havebeen lured into considering this proposition merely by the money, or by the novelty of it. I do get the feeling that if I make too big a production out of it, he'll chicken out. For this reason, meeting in a neutral spot ahead of time is an idea unlikely to go over well.

In fact, given that I haven't contacted him in a few days, I'm betting that he'll have lost interest. We shall see.

But thank you Hooville, for your input!!
