When looking at ads on Rentboy I realized that several ads only show pics of their body, dick, or ass and no face. The face is important to me and I would never hire based solely on their body or dick pic. Started to wonder how many responses they get on their ad and what others think. I realize some escorts want to be discreet but that's a deal breaker for me. How important is seeing the face of an escort before making a hire decision?

The 3 absolute best experiences I've had have been when I didn't see his face till I opened the door. And in all 3 cases his face was completely different from what I had pictured in my mind. Not a disappointment at all -- just totally different. But I wasn't making a decision based on pics of their headless body either. I do look at them, but rely more on reviews and the experience others have had than on physical appearance.

As you are new here, you will find this to be an ongoing subject of interest but not of the gravest concern as shown by namchebaz. You can always contact the escort to ask if he would send you a picture if it is a deal breaker. For the most part, these guys are pretty good lookin' and if they weren't, it would be noted in reviews.

 

Of the guys I've been with it's about 50-50 as far as having a face shot. I've never been disappointed.

It 100% depends upon your preferences, likes and needs. If you are the kind of person who can have a good time with anyone based on factors like body type, personality or reputation - then I would say it wouldn't be very important. If you are the type of person (like myself) who finds the face extremely important, then I would not recommend hiring without seeing a current face picture. I have tried it a few times in the past - only to be exceedingly disappointed. They never wind up looking like what I imagine they would and I am never able to get over that one aspect and enjoy myself. This does not mean they will all be unattractive.

For me, in seeking an escort, sometimes not seeing a face was a hinderance and sometimes it wasn't.

 

I have a bit of a photographic memory. So if I saw an escorts body before... like in a porn, a photograph, or something of a visual nature, even if I had not seen the persons face (in the ad) I could tell who it was from his body. I have hired a number this way (all were excellent and I still see them, save one who retired). Although, I guess this isn't really a fair way to assess or apply what you're asking.

 

The only escorts I've hired without seeing a face pic and never seeing both the face and body previously (in some form) has been Chris E., Kristian Elix, and Andrew Irons. (I definitely don't regret hiring those fine gentlemen!) :-) The difference here is, each had such stellar reps beforehand, I had no fear/hesitation in hiring them.

 

What seems to be a growing problem though, is even if an escort shows everything in an ad, sometimes those pictures are not of the person placing the ad.

 

Ultimately, it comes down to what you are looking for or willing to settle with. If you must see a face pic, stick to those ads only. Just make sure to try your best to vet whether the guy you're hiring is the real deal.

All I would suggest is that if the face is one of the most important things for you, only hire escorts who are willing to share their picture with you. As many have mentioned in the past, faces are a very personal thing and only God knows why some faces are attractive to us and some aren't. If the success of the session lies heavily on the face, then follow your gut and stick to your guns.

If you limit yourself to contacting well reviewed escorts, which I highly recommend, you will find validation of their good looks in the reviews. This is entirely a matter of personal preference. Everybody has their rules--e.g., hiring only well-reviewed men, or only those with bodybuilder physiques, or loving the Latins, etc., etc. As Chris E points out, there are plenty of fellows to chose from who advertise with face pics--and more who will send you a face picture if you ask nicely. I can't say it's ever mattered much to me, or that I've been disappointed in more often hiring men who don't show their faces (about 60% of the time, I think) than men who do, or that I'd ever count on a static face picture to give me any sense of certainty that I'll have a favorable response to a guy. I'm more attracted by how a man expresses himself (in his advertising or--if he has them--on his blog or website or on Twitter or in a Rentmen interview) and less inclined to choose on the basis of either body type or face. That's actually a very interesting question. You could tell the escort you plan to write a review—but is it your responsibility to clue other clients in on the picture issue? I mean, we have clients who review escorts all the time and avoid sexual details in their review. And then of course clients use the site and the reviews of others and then don't post one themselves.

True, but a not-inconsiderable proportion of the best-known escorts don't show their faces. I can think of four (maybe five -- does Raul G. Manzo show his face in pics?) that don't, you included.

 

I can relate to namchebaz's comment, both about being surprised and about reviews serving as a proxy, particularly since I believe my experience was with one of the three guys he refers to. And as others note, reviews can give you an idea of how good-looking someone is.

 

That said, if someone's face is that important to you, only hire those with face pics, as Juan suggests.

For some, the face pic is an important part of the hiring process and that is your choice. Though, I urge you not to go on that alone. Read the reviews, they are what I use in basing my final hiring on. I have never been disappointed with an escort who did not have a face pic. Plus, if only doing that, you would miss out on some great guys. Two of them, had comments on your post. Never have had the pleasure of Juan or Chris, but read those reviews and if they are ever in your city, I don't think that you would go wrong with either one of them..
