I just watched season one of Looking on DVD and I'm hooked. I don't subscribe to HBO and would rather not. Is there a way to watch the new season, which started last week, without subscribing to HBO?

Thanks.

I am not aware of any other way either. TLA Releasing, that advertises here on Daddy's site has last year's season available on DVD. I suspect that they will have the second season available too but not until it is over. I enjoyed seeing the first show last week and looking forward to the second installment tomorrow night. I too am hooked !!

If you are a cable subscriber, DoeBeDoe -- you can probably get a fairly deep discount (or free) HBO upgrade for a specified time. And, given how short the LOOKING season is, you might not be on the hook for much if you stay on top of canceling the upgrade.

HBO is supposed to come out with a streaming service sometime this year. If you don't subscribe to cable or satellite (as I don't), that might be an option, if you can wait.

There are also pirated bit-torrent files floating around the Internet, usually within a day or two of telecast date, if you want to go that route, though HBO has a habit of sometimes sending your ISP cease and desist orders if it sees your IP address downloading one of those files.

The first two seasons are available on Netflix (as DVD rentals only' date=' not online).[/quote']

You must be confusing DVD releases of "Looking," deej. The DVD release of Looking," season one, was released a few days ago. Tonight is Season 2, episode 2 on HBO.

Actually, I've subscribed to HBO now but after watching the first episode of the new season I wander if I should try to just walk away. Jonathan Groff and Russell Tovey are so hot I' becoming a bit obsessed. Anyone think either of them would find a middle aged slightly plump guy to be boyfriend material?

I finally watched the first two episodes from the second season. I'm debating canceling the season pass on my TiVo as I still have a hard time actually feeling engaged with this show. I fault the writing more than the acting since I don't think the scripts even give the actors a chance to develop their characters into people who seem real. Whenever there's a little glimpse into humanity, the writing veers into trite quips that I suppose are designed to make the audience laugh but which just fall flat to me.

If you have a friend who has HBO, have them sign up for HBOGo (included in subscription) and use their log in to watch on ur computer.

I was thinking about doing that. I currently have Comcast as my cable provider and but the person who was going to sign up has Armstrong as their cable provider. Would I still be able to access it since there are two different cable providers? I know there are only 10 more episodes left but I am going to cancel my cable subscription after the season is over but I would really do not want to pay for another 2 months of cable considering everything I can watch is on Hulu Prime.

THANK YOU! I thought it was just me! I decided if I'm that hard up to see gay sex or the occasional naked butt, I'll just watch porn and get the whole thing.

Andrew Haigh who created Looking also directed "Weekend" and "Greek Pete" - the latter a documentary about a London based escort who frequently visits New York.

I've met Pete and he is absolutely one of the good guys in this business.
