The Client Challenge

I’m always so impressed with the amount of time clients devote towards the forum. For many of you here, hiring escorts isn’t just a quick necessity; it’s a healthy, strong, engaging interest - and that is nowhere more evident than in your discussions of different men. You want to get as much info on us as you can.

 

For a good number of years now, there’ve been some truly unique offerings in the United States, that came out of the Hooboys / Daddy’s Reviews websites. The annual Palm Springs gathering, complete with a pool party hosted by the very generous Oliver, has existed for years on the west coast. Chris Eisenhower’s worked to recreate an event in Chicago this past year, which has its roots with HooBoy and Deej, over a decade ago. And the DC Luncheon, originally conceived by the inimitable Leigh.Bess.Toad, has been the force on the east coast.

 

Interest in the DC Luncheon is easy to see. Just look at the number of hits the current DC Luncheon thread gets: as I write this, it’s at 6,878.

Wow, that’s a lot of interest in this gathering. Why? One has to wonder.

 

As a frequent attendee, part-time helper to Leigh.Bess.Toad in the past, and now orchestrator of this year’s luncheon, I’ll share my opinion with you, of why I think it has so much interest. In fact, I believe it’s a combination of things:

 

- It has a critical mass. This isn’t just 2 ‘scorts meeting with three clients. The number of escort attendees has grown over the years. With a sufficient number of working men, clients know they’re bound to meet some guys they find to be absolutely amazing.

- It's a safe space. The luncheon is a discreet gathering where escorts and clients can socialize in a private setting.

- It's a chance to meet others who hire. Really, where else can clients do this, face to face? This is a unique chance to meet other people who hire escorts.

- It's also a chance to get a hands-on feel for many escorts at once. Well, not actually getting hands on an escort at the luncheon - right? However, it’s not unusual for hires to be set up then, even for sessions starting a few hours later. Escorts attending the DC luncheon range from porn stars, to internationally known working guys, to rentboys under the radar.

- It's fun and social. Forget about “Escorts” and “Clients” and “Daddy’s Reviews” for a minute. At a base level, this is a chance to meet some new, interesting, cool people. Who doesn’t want that?

- It's just lunch with drinks. Yep, good food - and real alcoholic drinks. It’s not a drunken spree, but everyone knows alcohol’s a great lubricant when getting together (although personally, I favor Swiss Navy Silicone).

- It's a welcoming space for people coming alone. And that includes people who don’t know anyone who will be there. An environment where people are friendly to each other? You’ll feel like you’re in another country! The only difference is, we won’t check your passport (or ID).

 

SO HERE’S MY CHALLENGE:

Right now the numbers have shifted - only slightly, but yes - and the Escorts are ahead in attendance numbers! And I’m like, WTF!? ...all that interest and desire to go to the DC Luncheon by members of this community... Where are you guys?

 

I’m not just talking about the posters on this thread. I’m talking about those of you who are lurkers. Readers of this. If you live in the metropolitan DC area, I strongly encourage you to come to this. If you’re on the east coast of the US, there’s still time to plan a trip here. Hell, if you’re anywhere in the states - or the world for that matter - you ought to be here.

 

I challenge FIVE more clients (or people who have thought of hiring), to sign up for the luncheon. If you meet this challenge, I will offer you one of the below options:

a) a special “take home” gift from me

b) a kiss with one of the escorts in attendance - in front of everyone else

c) a kiss with one of the escorts in attendance - in a private setting during the event

d) a special “recognition announcement” at the Luncheon, for attending this - showing everyone you’ve got the balls to do so

e) complete anonymity (if that’s more your style)

 

Clients, please don’t take this luncheon for granted, thinking you can skip it this year, and go to it in the future. One never knows what the future will hold, and these events -as anyone who has read this thread from the beginning - can easily not take place.

 

Here’s a quote from Leigh.Bess.Toad, written years ago about these sorts of gatherings:

“(It’s) a great comraderie in meeting fellow posters. You might meet an escort or two that you otherwise might not have known about, escorts may pick up a client or two, and maybe a couple of clients can even make a personal connection as well. All in all, it’s a great time. I really encourage anyone to join...”

I would so be there if I could this year. I have been able to attend a couple of the DC Forum gatherings in the past and enjoyed them immensely. I missed last year and had resolved to attend this year, but a family event I couldn't miss got scheduled that weekend, so here I am, missing the event again. I do hope it goes well this year, especially for you Dave, who has taken on the somewhat onerous task of planning things, given LBT's absence. If any of the readers of the forum are on the fence about going - go! You won't regret it.

Wow Dave, what a line up! I've heard so many wonderful things about Tyger, I've always wanted to meet him. Brad Allan, he's (somewhat) local to me and I've never met him. Some of the names that you listed are completely new to me. This is gonna be a blast!!

 

A suggestion, if any of the escorts that are attending and are inclined to do so, post a link to your current ad.. I think it would help you get recognized by clients who don't know you.

Hey, dcguy, FWIW, I often find myself feeling the same. Best cure for me has always been to jump right in. The great thing about big groups is that you can always find a small group within. I'm really good at the Irish Goodbye when I don't reach a good comfort level. And, if all else fails, we can sit together in a dark corner and make snarky comments!

DCGuy did you look at the list of escorts attending? COnsider us friends you have not met yet. i am going an i have met none of the other attendees on the client side. I am hoping that wont be the case next time i go. Time to break out of the comfort zone and get comfortable. Its only lunch and you can be whoever you want to be. I am planning on going as JJKirkman. Great post Dave. I've been to all these gatherings held in DC from the beginning. Even the ones that predate LBT taking up the mantle a few years ago. In fact Hoover and I may hold the joint title for the participation award if we go way back.

 

For those clients on the fence and have a sense of trepidation, don't worry this is a low key and friendly bunch. I've met some very interesting and fun members and had a great time over the years. There's no pressure and everyone has a great time.

 

As as for escorts, I've wound up hiring several after the event in the months following. This is a chance to meet without any pressure on an informal basis. Some guys do not post pictures on their ads and this is a way to meet the whole person on an entirely different level.

In my experience, and I've attended all of the DC events, it's a very welcoming community. Everyone has a smile on their face and there is no pressure to interact with anyone if you're too shy. I hope you'll try it, if you're too uncomfortable, you can always sneak out the back door!
