So... in about six hours my reign as EOY ’13 comes to an end.

It’s been a bittersweet year with its ups and downs, and has been the epitome of the phrase “what a difference a year makes.” I gained a title, lost a friend, made some new ones and strengthened some existing relationships. I literally traveled all over the world. My neighbors want to know what I do for a living that takes me all over the place, and so often.

“Consulting.”

Those same neighbors just canceled on me tonight, so it looks like I’ll be spending the evening alone. I don’t care—in fact, I like staying in and taking an assessment of what the past year has brought, what I’ve actually accomplished, and what I’ve just managed to talk about without doing anything. My closet is torn apart right now and I have two bottles of vodka, three different kinds of potato chips, and about 87 movies in my queue. I'm set.

I told Daddy that I am genuinely excited for the new EOY. I got to vote and I selected three men (plus another for Newcomer Of The Year). I’ve worked with three of them and would be happy seeing any one selected. And as I also told Daddy, getting picked was a real shot in my self-esteem, and made me feel that what I do matters to the people who voted for me. It’s always nice to hear.

I’ll be making some major changes to my life (and lifestyle) in the latter part of ’15 should all go according to plan, in order to set some long-term goals into motion. I hope that all of you have a great year that is safe and fun, and challenging and surprising and different from '14—and that you make the most of being alive.

Cheers!

Yes time to turn the tiara over the the next victim...uhh winner. Glad the title helped boost your ego and though i do not know you, the title seems to have been well deserved.

It is unfortunate that non-travelling escorts from less densely populated areas are at a disadvantage so like Miss Idaho, never a Miss America, the Boys in Boise are not likely to find themselves on the throne. That said, I have gotten to meet and meat many of the previous winners and each one was a delight. I hope the new Lord of the Chance Encounters wears the sash with pride and continues to foster the respect that won him the title.

2015, it seems like yesterday it was 2014. Ah the inevitability of it all. Happy New Year. And to paraphrase a friend,

In 2015, be more like yourself than ever,

Just like you are now, only better.

Like everybody else, I, not would, but do volunteer to keep you company but only 3,000 mile separate us.

Kudos to you for wearing your crown like a real man, representing the best that we have, and doing it with glee.

I look forward to seeing you, minus this headgear (who knows, another form may take its place).

All the best for this coming year, and forward…..

Funguy

Congratulations to our Emperor Chris.

Globetrotter, spiffy design guy, role model to many, wise counselor, occasional goofball, pretty freaking amazing kisser.

A difference-making "consultant" that I feel happy to know.

Hey Chris, enjoy your down time tonite and bask in all the love coming your way from so many.

Cheers,

J
