There's a bit of hyperbole here. A number of the guys have had some cred with oporn or other escort work. OTOH, Sparks himself doesn't strike me as all that personable and a lot of people have been unhappy with his ala carte pricing and the lack of privacy for sessions. Wow, to say that I'm repulsed by this would be an understatement. In listening to the description of his traveling road show, I'm nauseated. From what I could gather from his twitter feed (from back when I had my hiring experience), Jason trained as an engineer---he got into escorting (and porn, if I remember correctly) back when I still lived in Atlanta. He never interested me, so I never hired. That was a period where Atlanta's IT sector vaporized and a number of employers that would have employed engineers like Bell South went through layoffs. A lot of major employers went through downsizing--Turner, Bell South, even Coca Cola, which previously had not had layoffs. A lot of people who stayed migrated into areas related to real estate (mortgages, flipping houses, selling houses) of people who wound up in real estate (20% by some measures) contributed to the real estate bubble in Atlanta--the disproportionate number could not support the market over time and there were a lot of shoddy flips and efforts to gentrify very marginal places. It looks like Jason may have entered a different "Plan B" occupation. My own impression of Atlanta was that it it promoted an entrepreneurial culture that was mostly about suckers looking for bigger suckers. I suspect that kind of thinking is what undergirds his business model--exploitive but not exactly trafficking. I know we have Atlantans here, so I hate to say this, but I hated Atlanta and was happy to leave--too many guys like him. The funny thing is that I really don't know how his business model really works--travelling has costs, he hasn't been able to really build the web model and dropping people off in the middle of nowhere, among other things, suggests that he operates on a thin margin of profit.
