I am reaching out for feedback on a trend (so I think) that I've noticed recently regarding reviews. Let me express "my viewpoint" of what a review for an escort should be. I compare it to shopping for an item online, the review is to provide background into someone for compatibility or experience that is trying to schedule a meeting or overnight. Time and money are important, not to mention crucial for a client, especially those who travel and have a narrow window of opportunity. Now, the reviews also help "us" escorts out for acquiring new business, getting the word out, and it's something I'm thankful for but not expecting. But, the trend I've notice recently seems to disturb me a little. How is it possible for a "new" escort to gain so many quick reviews, especially from a "new" client who's never hired an escort before? I don't know about anyone else's view on this, but, a "new" client, not escort, is typically very discreet, hesitant, and cautious about anything tying them to this new venture. Now, is it possible, sure and rare..... However, when I've met the person(s) being reviewed, I clearly don't see the comments/review being true. Now, if it were just me making this "judge of character" then I would admit being way off base and say I'm dumb, but I'm not alone in this/these observances. I welcome new escorts because it provides variety and options. I have my own "go to" escort list I will refer someone to if I cannot accommodate, but I will be the first to say "BS" when I see it, especially if asked. I guess my only "take away" is, sh## is going to happen, and I can only control what I do, but, I think it gives reputable escorts a bad image when desperate newbies try bogus stuff and I feel bad for those clients who get suckered into it. Love or hate me for my comments, but daddy does a lot for us, and I dislike abuse of the system that is designed to help us all.

I know you can say that, and thank you for doing so. My point wasn't to disrespect anyone, it was to ask if anyone else has noticed some odd reviews, is all. My personal reviews are from veteran reviewers, the ones I was asking about were from someone who's new to being a client regarding a new escort (which I go back to 2011 in my old profile). I apologize if you took it personal, that's not my intent, it is just to ask if anyone has seen what I noticed, that's all.

What is this response all about. Jake asked for input about a topic that is very important to clients and escorts alike. It has also been a frequent topic on the Forum. I have not had the privilege of meeting Jake, but he is very honest and up front on his profile, is an active member of the Forum, has 3 highly respected Forum friends, and has impressed the many attendees of the DC Luncheon. He is not a just arrived on the scene guy looking for a quick buck

I totally agree with his perspective of the situation and applaud him for addressing it from the escort side of the table. CONGRATULATIONS JAKE!!

Finally, his response to your vicious post was extremely professional.

Once again, you have proved yourself to be one of the most negative, unprofessional members of the Forum. In my opinion, you are a disgrace to all clients on the Forum.

if you verbally fan yourself any more you're going to compete with Scarlett for queen of Tara

I may be a 'disgrace' in your bleary eyes but your opinion means less than zilch to me :)

have a lovely day

You must have to work really hard at being totally obnoxious and rude.

Speaking of royalty "The Queen of Mean" is a lowly servant in compared to you.

Enjoy your travels

Wow, I am sorry that your message elicited such a rabid response and I sincerely hope it doesn't drive you away. I thought it was a good, thought-provoking post. Perhaps someone felt it somehow discredited his object of worship??

Well I kind of feel reviews are currently about as useful as something posted on men4rent or yelp or fill in the blank of any other anonymous on-line review. I also think management does as good of job as they can to weed the crap out. Take reviews of an escort I was once interested in, Doug of LA. Can I say for sure or prove they are bogus, of course not. Do I believe them, absolutely not. So it comes down to using our own minds to make the best personal decision we can possibly make- just like the review of that auto mechanic on yelp. It is just as possible that an escort could press everyone they see very hard to submit a review as it is for an escort to ask his friends to make up fake glowing reviews. For me, anyone who is often reviewed by first timers all written in similar styles with nothing even remotely neutral to negative to say isn't credible. I am less inclined to see an escort in that situation.

I will I hope be a bit more tempered than Bosguy ;-) but jimboivyo you really stepped in the big doo doo here.

Jake's signature most assuredly was in his original. You could have also checked his moniker/avatar and seen who he is. I had no problem, after reading his first remark, checking his reviews here, and then remembering his name (mentioned very positively recently by another escort whose opinion I respect a lot).

In a way his comments have already proven to be worth a bit of introspection - not every good escort spends hours on end here drumming up business or beating a drum of self-promotion (in fact the vast majority of them by far do not do more than peek in here).

For me, the best ones are the ones who have built up a reputation over time, and with great care and effort. And yes, they would only have a few posts to their screen name.... My experience (for what little it is worth) is to assiduously AVOID escorts who have overnight garnered 100+ posts and a dozen or so reviews in a matter of a few weeks from almost complete obscurity (and as Jake so wisely pointed out, often from first-time reviewers). A few times I did go out of my way to hire some of these - in each and every circumstance, the encounter was by no means memorable or one I would ever repeat -- I felt I was taken in by a professional scammer.

Some find the chase of the most popular guys here with dozens of reviews and posts exciting -- for me it turns me off as it is a certain character trait (self-promotion and self-adulation) that I just do not admire either in business or in a social setting. But that is MHO only. I do not judge those who like such people (or hire such people).

And again IMHO, I agree with Jake -- I have been on this board and these forums from when it was first founded by HooBoy. It took me almost a year after I first began hiring to even submit my first review... I submitted over the years reviews of about only 5-10% of guys I met. I also had another name at the time, which over the years - and after a small self-imposed hiatus from this site - I forgot and had to reinvent myself in the reviews. In reviews I often check who the REVIEWER is, his own self-description (which many do not give these days - again part of Jake's post - which might help to understand the issue of chemistry between escort and client), and who else he has hired and reviewed -- so first-time reviewers mean little or nothing to me.

I, too, have noticed a trend of previously unreviewed escorts receiving a series of reviews from first-time reviewers. I, too, have thought this to be odd and have to admit the thought crossed my mind that some of these reviews could have been written by someone other than a bona fide client. However, a first-time reviewer is not necessarily new to hiring escorts. He can be new to writing reviews on this site but experienced at hiring. Likewise, an escort who is reviewed for the first time is not necessarily a new escort. Finally, any client (first-time or otherwise) who wishes to remain discreet can use a handle that is discrete from his own identity. Although it is possible (maybe even highly probable) that some of these reviews are not genuine, I think it is dangerous to make so many generalizations and assumptions.

Methinks someone is a bit testy in San Antone?

Wait until Mr. SMendez pipes in on this one!
