Rentboy has the Hookies... I think this site, which is the #1 gay escort review site online, and a reliable resource for clients, should give out awards... so I'll start it. (Unless Daddy doesn't want me to.)

 

The 2013 Daddy Awards

 

Here are the categories:

• Best Personality (the escort with the best personality)

• Best Newcomer (an escort that debuted in 2013)
  
• Daddy's Legend Award (to an escort that has been working for more than three years)

Daddy has the "Escort of the Year" awards he gives at the end of the year. Much has been posted about how the winner (s) are selected and Daddy takes everyone's opinion into account. However, ultimately this is Daddy's sandbox and we play by his rules.

To be completely frank, I think you guys are being a bit cruel and off-putting in the way longtime and running members of a group can be to new people who haven't gotten the lay of the land yet.

 

This originator of the thread joined the forum as an actual poster this month. (I have no way of knowing if he is a lurker from longer back or a previous member with a new name, but I get the sense that's not the case).

 

However, under this name, that was his seventh post. Go back and read his other three threads he started. He clearly is enthusiastic about the site, and I can see why he didn't know about the yearly contest or even to think about consulting Daddy first. Most Forum discussions on the Internet aren't run this personally or have this small of a membership.

 

So to JBB5, I say:

 

First off, welcome to this Forum.

 

Secondly, great minds think alike. That's a good idea you had, and the good news is Daddy, who operates this site on our behalf, conducts just such a contest each year. If you do a search, you can see the results of the contests from previous years.

Rentboy's 'The Hookies' are an absolute joke. The site and its blog never go into details about how voting occurs or winners determined (or, did I miss something when attempting to search the site using its, um, stellar navigation?)... I was once told by a longtime escort that Rentboy holds events in which escorts mingle with clients. It may be that those clients are those voting. At any rate, I find the whole idea of escort awards via an escort site ridiculous and untrustworthy. Ditto for the 'review' option listed beneath each ad. Good luck trying to find a review! I'm all for Daddys' starting its own Escort Awards based perhaps on aggregate averages of reviews for each calendar year, etc. Great suggestion.

Daddy should delete this entire thread completely from his site and use the respective categories when he does his awards at the end of 2013 then post those selected so that we can vote.

From that the winners are announced on January 1st or 2nd in 2014. Let the clients do the nominating per category along with voting only ONCE!!!
