While they aren't my very favorites, I like them. And I'd definitely show them some Texas hospitality if they dropped by. :p

Gman

There was another note: It read;

THESE THINGS YOU CAN JUST TOSS, LIKE YOU DID ME, THANK YOU AND FUCK YOU. I THOUGHT YOU WERE MY FRIEND.

Tonyko was totally justified, I m sure I would've done the same. But... I must admit, that note the guy left at the end, even with the FU, did kind of make me feel sorry for him a bit.

'Roid rage is largely a myth.

No untruer sentence has ever been written.

It is a fact, proven again and again by empirical and scientific evidence that a huge dose of Testosterone will elevate the likelihood of feelings of aggression both in males and females. This might lead to aggressive behaviour or not depending on whether there was already a tendency for this kind of behaviour. Testosterone only makes it much bigger and harder to control. That is why some people on steroids go out looking for fights and some don't. To make things much worse, when the body experiences an unexpected spike of Testosterone, it will try to reach its normal balance by secreting huge amounts of Estrogen. Estrogen, for us men who are not constantly at its mercy is a hormone that in great amounts fucks up entirely with your emotions, makes you hyper reactive, makes being rational almost impossible.

A huge amount of Testosterone laced with a huge amount of Estrogen will without a doubt increase the propensity for antisocial behaviour.

I am a gay man who goes to the gym every day. Most of my friends go to the gym. Some of them have gone through steroid cycles and steroid abuse. There is a series of symptoms that appear every single time when they go over a certain dosage. There is so much material written about it.

The only material that reads as "Steroids may or may not ______" is material written by the steroid industry and the steroid aficionados.

All serious material about it is unequivocal. Even though there are certain compounds that have more pronounced side effects than others, any testosterone based supplement administered over a certain threshold will increase feelings of aggression, anger, dominance, libido and will spike the production of Estrogen.

It's Science.

In my trademark habit of launching off on a tangent...

For the non-lawyers out there, he was referring to corporate/business clients who didn't understand the law, would never bother to try to understand the law, thought they'd handed off legal liability to the businesses they contracted with to administer employee benefits (not so; explaining that was always a fun part of the job), consulted the lawyers too late or at the last minute with ridiculous deadlines, had an unfortunate tendency to fuck things up and need expensive bailing out in terms of both liability and legal fees, and then complained about the fees.

That practice is not limited to the US. We have had a low level 'scandal' here with labour hire companies exploiting foreign workers on working holiday and short term employment visas. The ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation, our public broadcaster, equivalent of the BBC) has done a series of stories on them. Typically they employ them with illegal workplace conditions, demand excessive hours, don't pay overtime rates or returement pay that are legally required and house them in cramped, dirty, crowded accommodation. After an early story, one horticulture company sacked the labour hire firm and employed the workers directly. In a more recent case the ABC used a whistle blower (a Taiwanese woman) to expose conditions at an abbatoir in my local area. The woman was sacked and thrown off the premises. Fast forward to today and the woman has just been hired by the meatworkers union as their foreign worker liaison officer. The company has announced a huge investment in the abbatoir, a good news story for all sorts of reasons. But they declined an interview with the ABC because they would be asked questions about those labour issues and, 'Those issues have been addressed'! It'll be interesting to see how this pans out as supermarkets here are facing increased scrutiny of their entire supply chains.

...and with all due respect, the client did lie, made promises he never intended to keep, and in a matter of speaking threw him out like yesterdays garbage. This is a human being were talking about. He might have felt justified, because of the altercation, perhaps even threatened, but I can't help but think if perhaps there wasn't another alternative. http://www.boytoy.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/yes.gif

Physically attacking the "friend " that went above and beyond was enough to have him arrested..."perhaps threatened?"...he was attacked...don't blame him for evicting him...blame him for not having him arrested...

I didn't blame the OP for evicting him, he was justified in that because of the altercation, I only said that there were other alternatives...meaning that I would have handled the eviction differently. Just my opinion.

I'm reminded of what Roger Sterling said about clients in Mad Men, "This would be a great business if it weren't for the clients." I say it about my clients all the time.

Although give me a client over a boss any day of the week. A paying client is far more likely to be a rational actor than a boss, in my experience. And if not, firing a client is a lot less disruptive than quitting your job.

An ox team couldn't drag me back into working for somebody else.

Hes kind of lucky the guy didn't take him to court over the "illegal eviction". Ive seen to many horror stories of friends letting a friend stay over, having a problem, wanting to kick them out, only to find out they had to actually go through the legal eviction process 2 week notice blah blah steps, all because as soon as the person took up residence there, they have "legal rights".

Of course. You don't see too many self-employed professionals saying "I've had it up to here with these damn clients!! I'm going to go get a regular job that forces me to be there from 8 to 5 with a boss breathing down my neck." It's just that a difficult client is a particular kind of hell.

A difficult client is a sign that you're not charging enough.

Seriously. Not only can I tolerate more pain for more gain, but as I've raised my consulting rates over the years, the client quality has gone up in proportion.

As does the level of person you engage with in the client organization. The boss there is likely to be a lot easier to deal with than an underling. For all the obvious reasons.

Saying it's science doesn't make it so. Show me some science.

At some point, being surrounded by men with unreachable bodies through natural avenues, I became tempted with using steroids. I read a lot about it from very many different sources. I did my homework. Didn't seem worth it for me.

I am not your teacher. If you are that curious and passionate about the subject I recommend you to study the available literature. There is absolutely no disagreement on what huge doses of testosterone will do to your body. If I had that much time to do your research for you and present you the pertinent Endocrinological literature, I would definitely use that time doing something else that is more fun for me.

Antivaxers swear that they know everything about vaccines. However if you ask any medical professional they will have to agree that the antivaxers are just misled and wrong. One is a personal opinion, the other is a scientific assessment based on careful and detached research.

Science has been wrong in the past and will be wrong in the future, but the scientific community tends to have the most current correct information. Luckily for us, this information is really easy to come by.

Best luck if you chose to explore this! It's pretty interesting to discover how most of our reactions to the world are nothing but a chemical compound pushing our buttons.

Where did I ask for a teacher? I merely asked someone making an assertion to substantiate his assertion. And you have declined to do so. Game over.

Excellent reply. Short and to the point.

Ayayay. I'm not going to question the statements. I am just going to run around dropping ashes over my bold head in mourning for what is left to us, the poor clients who cannot afford prime rates. Ayayayay.

To be clear, 'client' here referred to clients of my consulting biz, not clients of escorts.

Much appreciate the nods of agreement but I'm curious, WHAT do those who disagree with how I handled it think WOULD have transpired in the HOUR or so I would have stood there while he packed up his belongings made calls for another place etc etc etc if I HAD been honest and told him to leave then and there. I really DON'T think it would have been pleasant AND I also think his anger would possibly have built up again as he gathered his stuff. AND if it had I may not have been as lucky in a second fight as I was in the first. I was looking at blood on my wall blood on the carpet a smashed lamp and my poor dog had peed cause he got scared. When I'm in a situation like that I go into "diffuse now" mode. Same as in the ring, figure out how to make it to the next round then before the next bell figure out how to win. I won the next day. The end.
