BTW, what happened to Chenoweth? Here she was a few years ago, when she looked so gorgeous. Her eyes look totally different now.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't know if she has had any work, but sometimes I think it's better to age gracefully!

People were saying she had plastic surgery back then too, but whatever she was doing looked good. Those cat like eyes are just incredible. (She also looked gorgeous in Wicked, but that was a while ago.)

Now, she appears to have done something new that isn't flattering. Maybe it's the bob.

This post was sort of like running into McDonalds with a BK Whopper and saying they are selling burgers over there too. Most topics discussed here seem to be discussed there in some manner and vice versa. With that said, Adam usually has an interesting point of view even if he expresses it less often here than there.

That was VERY funny. Thanks for posting it.

Actually, I thought it was very lukewarm. Nothing that hadn't already been said about the whole Weiner thing - not particularly witty nor particularly edgy (though this was network TV, so of course it couldn't be edgy). As for Chenoweth, yeah, she's pretty much become a parody of herself - a vapid, nails-on-blackboard chirpy-voiced kewpie doll. Which is a shame because I also think she's insanely talented. I wish she'd lose the cutesy little girl voice, grow up, and get back to showing her impressive talents, instead of this crap.

Adam, I tried the link and got a 404 error. I posted on the M4RN (?) forum back when Daddy's was down but rarely visit now.

FYI: There WAS an earlier story (I think it was the airport tarmac one) that I originally read on the other forum a month or so ago. I didn't credit it then but I'll do so now.

I thought it was funnier than the audience did. She didn't get much in the way of laughs--even for the best line, the one about how he should stop being "a big w-h-o-r-e." Dashes added to get around the filter.

I liked it - thanks for posting.

But seriously, guys, why the gratuitous comments about Kristin? She's got an amazing voice (and she's pretty versatile too - Cunnegunde in Candide as well as Glinda in Wicked) and so she's a little older. So what? Who here isn't?

Nasty, nasty queens.

I hope you weren't referring to me.

I do think she's very, very talented - and a lot more versatile than she lets on. But that's exactly my beef - I would love to see her branch out more and explore that versatility she has, instead of relying on her cutesy stuff, which is not only getting old, but she really is getting too old for. (But you know I'd say the same for "little boy" personas like Adam Sandler, or, say, Jimmy Kimmel. Or in an earlier era, Jerry Lewis. To paraphrase a song by Jacques Brel, they all strive to be "cute, cute, cute in a stupid-ass way" and I find it insufferable.)

She hasn't ever fully done Cunegonde to my knowledge - just the (badly) semi-staged concert adaptation with the NY Philharmonic a decade ago. I wish someone would mount a production of Candide for her. (I seem to remember she was supposed to do it in London at one point, but either the production got cancelled, or she had to turn it down.) She was also scheduled to appear in the Met's revival of The Ghosts Of Versailles, with the role originally played by Marilyn Horne specifically tailored for her voice, but the production was shelved.

Like many, I was surprised when she took on Fran Kubelik in Promises, Promises - a much more serious-minded musical role, far away from the likes of the annoyingly squeaky Sally in Charlie Brown or the cutesy Galinda/Glinda in Wicked. I didn't see the production, but reports I've heard were favorable, and I like the way she sounds on the recording (though she's certainly quite different than Jill o'Hara in the original). There are rumors of her starring in a production of On The Twentieth Century - Lily Garland being another role that will require her to do much more than just warble and/or sound like Betty Boop. I'd love to see her take this on, with hopes that she'll approach the role as a woman, not as a girl.

But if she really wants to do parodies on national TV (ok, fine, lol), she should at least get funnier writers. My main problem with the whole Weiner song was that it just wasn't very good. Chenoweth deserves better, and should be a bit more discerning.

I was the person who made the comment about the change in her appearance, but I didn't think my comment was particularly mean.

My point is that in the video, she looks like a completely different person than she was 3 years ago. I don't know what she did. I think she's beautiful and talented, so I'm hoping that whatever it is will wear off and she'll go back to being the beauty she was before.
