I have been posting on this site for a very long time. it seems that the frequency of new posts and the vibrancy of those posts have diminished remarkably in the last few months and more dramatically in the last few weeks. I recognize the vicissitudes of the life of this site but this seems different than other ebbs.

So, has this site jumped the shark or is this just a nice weather lull?

i plan to stay with the site but I am thinking it may be shark this time. Thoughts.

I have been on this site since the beginning, and observations like this have come up regularly. I, too, have noticed the diminution of posts lately, which may be a sign of the endtimes, or may simply be part of the normal ebb and flow here. A lot of the old blood has drained away, but one never knows what new infusions are in store. However, I think there are signs that the administrators are growing understandably tired of the whole thing, and that may be more important than the participation of old and new posters.

I think the normal ebb and flow of things is the more likely. It seems to me actually that more escorts are posting then at other times. It could also be if someone is suspended or placed on a time out and they are actively posters using who knows how many aliases that the loss of that one person might seem like the loss of 5 people.

I have the impression that there have been more 'newbie' posters of late. I think it's important to treat them with respect and to encourage them. Without 'new blood', the site will wither and die through natural attrition even if there aren't any 'major meltdowns'.

It's not so much a loss of posters as a recent decline in the number of threads and responses. Rick Munroe was one of the most prolific posters in the history of the site, but he had actually posted very little in the past couple of years, unless he was posting under another name. Lucky never posted under any name but his own, and he has not been here for many months.

I wonder whether people are also finding other sites on which they discuss the non-escort-related topics that used to fill the Lounge and the Politics fora.

I don't think it's anything. I think some people who posted for years may not do as much as they used to or at all anymore but some of us are still plugging away here in the trenches.
