I usually pull for the hottest QB. Though he's no Tom Brady in the face, I'm just hopin that Colin Kaepernick wears his armless jersey so I can get off on his amazing tatted biceps.

I wanna see Kaepernik show off. He's a cocky sumbitch, and I like the attitude. But in my gut, I'm pulling for the ordinary Joe. He's not a "premier" QB, but I'd like to see him win it.

I don't usually "pull" for either of these teams although I admit enjoying watching Joe Montana during the "glory years" pull off some amazing wins. The game has some unusual interest because two bros are the opposing head coaches. Pro football seems to have a good bit of nepotism but this isn't that. It is two siblings who care about each other seeking "bragging rights".

Bottom line: I feel compelled to take the points. Go Ravens. :)

Best regards,

KMEM

Although I am almost certain that the team to score the most points will win, because of the proximity to where I live, I'm rooting for Baltimore. Because of Brendon Ayanbedjo, who is such an amazing and incredible ally to the LGBT community and joined us in the fight for marriage equality in Maryland (rather vociferously), that rooting will be even more. The fact that is just as stunning on the outside as he is on the inside just makes it easier.

Host city New Orleans is the clear winner. It's only Wednesday and hotels & restaurants are full and The French Quarter is crowded nightly with young, gorgeous men (fans for both teams and thousands of media and corporate reps).

I'll go with the Ravens for three reasons:

First, their kicker is exceptionally good, even under the very heaviest pressure.

Second, Flocco, the quarterback, seems at his best when the stakes are high and pressure is most intense.

Third, the team has peaked, right now. They are the best they've been the entire season.

In light of homophobic 49er Chris Culliver's anti-gay comments this week, I've switched my home-state allegiance and will be pulling for the Ravens:

It gets worse.

Two other 49ers have denied participating in the "It Gets Better" video the 49ers did. (They were the first team in professional sports to do so.) Even though they're plainly visible in the video.

Deej, they were far from the first time in professional sports. I don't know who was the very first but it wasn't the 49ers. The IGB video for the San Francisco Giants has been out for over a year and a half. The 49ers video, only a few months.

I don't get how they say that they didn't know it wasn't to support LGBT youth or who the video was for. In the video, Dante Whitner, 49ers Safety, says the "49ers are proud to join It Gets Better.Org to let all LGBT teens know that It Gets Better". Ahmad Brooks, I'm ashamed of you. What a miserable coward you are. A pathetic representative of UVA.

All the more reason to support and root for the Ravens. And especially now with Terrell Suggs coming out and saying a gay teammate would be accepted with no problems in the Ravens locker room. Maybe in some places it does get better.

For what it's worth, at least a few 49ers expressed support (or at least tolerance) for a gay player when news of former teammate Kwame Harris having a boyfriend came out the day before. But Culliver's, Brooks's, and Sopoaga's comments overshadowed all that, and now Dan Savage has pulled the 49ers "It Gets Better" video from the official site. 49ers communications people must be in a major snit! But I think it probably represents a schism between management and some of the rank-and-file that likely exists with most teams. It makes Brendon Ayanbedjo's advocacy that much more courageous. Go Ravens! But wait, I live in the heart of SF so... go 9ers!

Like Deej I'm not enough of a fan of sportsball to have even known who these guys were until this week, but there's lots of 49er craziness right out my window.

Going with my favorite team this year - excellent under pressure and they have exceeded everyone's expectations. Ravens. They are just HOT this year - although none of the team members are.

As a lifelong resident of Cleveland, all that I have to say is that I will never, ever root for the Ravens. My feelings are aptly summarized by Kahn's last words (and Captain Ahab): "From Hell's heart I stab at thee. For Hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee." Other than that, I don't feel strongly one way or the other :)

I respect Baltimore, and Lewis. They’re a good team. That second-half shutout against New England in the AFC Championship was masterful. But San Francisco is the better team. And Jim Harbaugh is the better coach. I don't really have a dog in this fight, but my gut says the 49ers will probably take home the big trophy on Sunday.

I Was not particularly interested in either team so I didn't care. However, after the anti-gay comment by the SF player, I am now pulling heavily for the Ravens. I hope Baltimore win....and win big. The best thing that could happen is that the post game analysis focuses on the bad karma created by the anti-gay 49ers player. It would be great if he took the heat for the big loss.
