NEWS UPDATE:

 

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that I have been contacted by both People Magazine and In Touch to be their "Most Fascinating" person of the week. Theres currently a bidding war going on. I'll keep you all posted.

 

Thank you to all that have participated here, and especially to N13. While I'll use the money for that retirement condo in Palm Springs, with a guest house for Rick Munroe & Co. , ill be forever Grateful. :cool:

....and this issue arises once again. Seems this topic related to this incessant poster comes up every 3-4 months. I wonder why that is?

 

For me, it is much more than an issue of free speech, the important issue is the overall quality of the forum. Like me, how many of you sigh when you go into the Lounge in the morning to find the top 4 threads most recent post is from the annoying poster. This poster feels compelled to respond to every post on nearly every thread. It's so tiresome for many of us that it seems to have driven lots of people away.

 

At what point does someone elses freedom of speech (or posting) impinge on others enjoyment value of the forum? Do you resent said poster completely taking over virtually every thread in the lounge....to the point you feel inclined not to post in that particular thread?

 

Is your "Forum experience" better or worse than it was pre-June 2011?

 

In my case it's worse!

Good question - you'd think they'd have realized the futility of it by now.

 

Easy enough to IGNORE someone - and frankly, the bitching & whining isn't improving the quality of MY Forum experience. :(

I had nothing against him until he posted the following about me "although your motives are masked" and in that one phrase he crossed the line from someone having an opinion to someone making a very deliberate and personal accusation against me. I still am sickened every time I think about it and have definitely posted a whole lot less because of him. I wish ignore feature meant he couldn't reply to any of my posts and I couldn't reply to any of his. Unfortunately, it doesn't, and now I refrain from posting on most topics I otherwise would have liked to comment on or add to the discussion simply and completely because of this member.

 

For that reason, yes, if we got to vote-- I would definitely vote him off the island.

It's better lately, since it doesn't seem as "cliquish" and "in-jokey."

I get your point. I was not part of that "in-crowd" with all the inside jokes being played out in the public forum. And all that gushing. Mind you, I look back fondly on those days compared to today's Lounge experience which seems to revolve around one single attention w*o*e and a couple of his enablers.

Its unfortunate that you feel someone MUST have a certain opinion of you. Obviously the opinion a person has of you is one YOU create yourself by what you say, somewhat like the opinion YOU have of me. Yet I would never DENY you the right to post here or even suggest you be Banned. If I am a more opinionated person than you, or am more participatory in the site, so be it. This is not a fuckin contest, if I have something to say, I'll say it.

Your excuses that I am the one causing you to post less is YOUR problem, not mine. If my presence here intimidates you, thats also YOUR problem. Obviously NOT everyone here feels the same way you do. We dont know each other so I find it quite odd that a comment I made about something you said should affect you so adversely. You really need to "grow a pair" if you choose to participate in a public forum with a bunch of strangers. I gave an opinion an my reason for it; it was NOT an attack on you, but if you choose to see it that way, again YOUR issue.

And as well, YOU have affected MY forum experience for the worse , so the score is even...... As for the quality of yours, cant even comment cause the only ones I can remember are your whiny ones about me. But as you've named yourself "The Connoissewer", you must know what you are talking about ? :D
