One of my three favourite studios, Seancody.com, had a special Christmas gift for us:

To major hunks doing it BAREback, with a rather extensive disclaimer regarding possible health issues.

Think of it what you will. I'm just sayin' ...

Personally, the fact that Sean Cody is now doing this, added to the fact that the guys at Corbin Fischer regularly bareback, or pretend to bareback, is a reason to patronize RandyBlue, NextDoorStudios ... or almost anyone else who doesn't do the bareback thing. Barebacking -- unless done between monogamous partners who have both been tested at least twice, 6 months apart, since becoming monogamous -- is stupid, self-destructive, and almost sociopathic. (The latter because it risks perpetuating a very serious debilitating disease in society, rather than enabling that disease to decrease in frequency over time.) That ain't no Xmas gift ... that's a poisoned apple.

Well said! I agree entirely, and could not have expressed it better.

Agreed Shadow, but there is a large part of society that likes to live "dangerously" and overlook the details such as playing with a "death sentence". And you cant speak rationally to this group, they just dont get it. I think you need to personally experience death from HIV Aids to really understand what you are "playing with"....

Another completely raw episode

They posted a new one yesterday, possibly setting the tone for the new year as well as the future: hot older Sean Cody actor Dennis not only gets DPed raw, but creampied! The boys certainly seem really into it, and that concerns me - the sex appeared to be really hot with all of them really yelling and screaming and smiling and giggling. It can give the impression that it was particularly great, and "it's because it's raw and free!" I don't know how much further they can go beyond this - they pretty much did everything imaginable in this particular last movie, at least in the realm of what can be considered non-kink (albeit unsafe) sex.

Watching Dennis get creampied was disturbing. It was like watching someone eagerly and gleefully accepting a death sentence... and then you see them horsing around in the 'behind the scenes' videos, as if it were nothing at all.

I can't help but imagine younger, impressionable gay men watching this and thinking, hey, it's on Sean Cody, so it must be okay.

This is blatantly irresponsible of Sean Cody. These studios have convinced themselves that their survival depends on doing bareback videos. After all, they are producing the same content that they were producing four years ago and their revenues are down. As they each wade into making online sexual content without condoms, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy for many young viewers who didn't live through the horrible peak of the HIV epidemic. In my opinion, the more often they see porn actors bare-backing, them more likely their attitude will become "everyone else is doing it, why shouldn't I?"

Exactly.

Scary.

If one feels strongly enough about how irresponsible Sean Cody (and other porn sites) is being by doing bareback porn then the thing to do is not patronize them and withhold spending the almighty dollar on their site (making sure they know). The next step, depending on where you draw the line on responsibility for promoting bare back porn, is to not support/patronize the sites you come across that Sean Cody (and other similar sites) advertises on, again making sure those sites know the reason. Enough people do this then it might impact bottom lines enough to have them reconsider their decision. If one draws the line in such a way then you have to face the difficult decision of whether to stop visiting certain sites you enjoy (including Daddy's review site as Corbin Fisher, which has bareback porn, does advertise on his site). This is where it becomes a moment of truth as to how strongly one's principles might be when put to the test.

I think some of you who have weighed in here are a little unobservant or naive if you haven't noticed the large amount of sexually active guys who are already not using condoms. While I'm not advocating unsafe practices at all, it would seem that Sean Cody is presenting behavior that is already pretty common - I don't think seeing a fantasy video is going to make some young guy throw away his Magnums or Trojans. That's already happened for a lot of people. Stupid behavior, yes; new behavior, no.

I'm quite sure you are right about unsafe sex being more practiced than ever, though how much so, isn't in my knowledge. That said, on the hookup sites I'm on, I generally gloss over those who state they are sometimes or seldom safe, so I'm not the best judge.

But showing it in the media, and in the more mainstream of porn sites, I think sends a stronger message (not necessarily a new/ INITIAL one) which may numb the message of safe sex. I liken it to "Will & Grace" mainstreaming gay characters - they were not the first ones, but in a sense, they sent a stronger message than the gay characters on, say, "Dynasty" or "Soap". And while it hasn't eliminated intolerance (far from it, if the "It Gets Better" campaign is any indication) I think it has generated more acceptance and tolerance through visibility.

But that's just my 2 cents.

They can sugarcoat it all they want with a cute term like "unwrapped," but it is still barebacking. I love how these sites try to run from what they are doing by giving it a different name. Their clips now have a new look in the beginning to let you know you are watching stuff after the dawn of their bareback adventure.

I watched the clip and had to wonder what the need for going bareback is? Brandon still didn’t suck cock. They guys fucked and it looked just the same as if a clear condom was on. He pulled out and shot the load…just like with a condom. Only difference is that they did the TIM/Chaos trademark stick it back in after you’ve come to make sure the bottom is good and infected.

Porn is a lot like advertising, it’s time to focus less on the concern of older folk and concentrate on the younger kids who are ignorant to the dangers of AIDS/HIV.

No doubt, SC will make a butt load of money but their earnings will never justify or equal the value of one gay kids life.

Like it or not, porn does set trends and influence sexual behavior. The continued mainstreaming of bareback gay porn will indeed have consequences among younger people, especially when the safer sex message is so poorly disseminated these days. Very sad.

There are two sides to this coin.

Bareback is look upon like its a negative. Mainly in the gay community which paints a negative pricture in the straight community of gays. There is very little straight porn in which condoms are the norm. It gives the message that if you are gay, you are going to get HIV if you have unprotected sex. Truth is that one partner needs to have HIV to spread it to someone else. HIV isn't created from thin air; which most young straight people believe because most ads just say "wrap it up" with the underlining intention that your going to get HIV if you have unprotected sex and that if you "wrap it up", you are immune to all other diseases out there. While we work to prevent the spread of HIV, we work so hard to help spread the other diseases by doing a half ass job.

Sean Cody stated in his first porn that his actors went thru strict testing protocols. Thus, all model's tested negative for HIV.

So hot ex-Marine Pierce was going to get fucked by muscle stud Brandon. Pierce was excited about that... but there was also another reason he was excited.

They weren't going to use condoms.

This was something totally new for us. But both of our guys had been through a strict testing protocol.

The naked truth is: there's a new generation watching porn and is taking over. They don't want to see condoms being used, and personally, I don't either. If all models went though a testing protocol and all tested negative, then go for it.

In my personal life, I use condoms.

What about ads that represent that you can get Herpes from kissing. Someone who does even show symptoms can still spread the virus. In fact, Herpes is reported to be in more than 60% of adults (percentages very upon who you ask).

What about ads that represent you can get Hepatitis B from contact with sperm, aka swallowing or handling it in your mount and the fact that Hepatitis B is 50 to 100 times more infectious that HIV.

What about ads that say Gonorrhea is transmitted through contact with an infected vagina, penis, anus, or mouth. It is spread through semen or vaginal fluids during unprotected sexual contact with a partner who has gonorrhea. Touching infected sex organs, like the vagina or penis, and then touching your eyes can also cause an eye infection.

If porn studios were going to play if safe and not do a half ass job, here is what you should see:

Before Brandon goes to give Pierce a blow job, Pierce slips on a condom so that if Brandon has Herpes it does not spread to Pierce and if Pierce has Hepatitis it does not spread to Brandon (unprotected oral sex). Brandon gives Pierce an amazing blow job. Before Pierce slips off the condom, he slips on a pair of gloves to remove the condom that has the saliva on it that could possibly transmit Herpes.

Before Pierce goes to kiss Brandon from giving him a wonderful blow job, Pierce breaks out a dental dam to prevent the spread of Herpes threw unprotected oral sex and they start kissing.

Pierce is very hard at this point and is ready to fuck Brandon. Pierce pulls out a condom to protect against the spread of HIV, but even though both of them have already had a test to prove that they don't have HIV, they play it safe and slip on the condom, as Gonorrhea, Hepatitis, and Herpes can still be spread threw unprotected anal sex.

In the heat of things, Pierce is thrusting his latex covered penis into Brandon at which they both get very aroused and want to kiss each other. Brandon stops and reminds Pierce about unprotected oral sex and that they need to use a dental dam. So they pull out the dental dam and start kissing each other.

Pierce gets ready to cum, pulls out his latex covered dick, puts on a pair of gloves, removes the condom, takes off the gloves, but playing safe and not wanting to spread Herpes, Gonorrhea or Hepatitis; gets out a large dental damn and places it on Brandon's back and cums onto the dental damn.

Afterwards, both guys wash their hands with anti-bacterial soap and alcohol based hand sanitizer as to remove any virus or bacteria they could have on their hands.

I know most of you have already stated that you would not give a guy a blow job with a condom on.

We focus so much on HIV prevention that we forget about the other disease. If your going to play if safe, then play it safe. If your going to do a half ass job, know your risk.

A condom is much more than a "half ass" attempt at protection, though sadly not a perfect one. Plus, testing is far from fail safe especially if there's a gap between testing and shooting the film.

I honestly don't see what the allure of bareback is. I don't ever want to bareback in my personal life and when I see it in porn, I just recoil in fear for the unprotected actors.

Your example is extreme and doesn't really refute the need for condoms nor absolve the porn industry from a need to be more responsible in its filming. The other STD's you mentioned are not fatal, most of the time, wherease HIV/AIDS still always is eventually. Capitalizing on a possible death sentence should never be excused.

My two cents,

It is really, REALLY reassuring to see so many people here standing up and protesting this bareback sh*t. It isn't the fact that I've lived through the epidemic and lost most of my friends from college. It is that that damned virus is still around, still circulating, and I don't want to see another generation get decimated. I used to really like Sean Cody, and will no longer subscribe.

I'm not sure what I think about gay porn using condoms. I suppose it's much easier to produce a porn video if you don't have to worry about condoms. Whether there's an implicit obligation to help education people new to gay sex is still up in the air. Did not allowing people to smoke on television, and removing cigarette ads from magazines & tv reduce the allure of smoking? I don't know. I do agree that in the near future, the trend is that more and more gay porn videos will be bareback. And the primary reason will be $$$.

And here's the Surgeon General's warning on every pack of cigarettes:

People still freaked about all the smoking when the TV series "Mad Men" came on.
