2nd Annual Forum DC Luncheon -- Mark Your Calendars 1/16/12

Okay guys. This just got a bit more interesting. I just got a notice from OpenTable that the week of January 9-15 (Monday-Sunday) is DC Restaurant Week. A lot of really great restaurants will be having lunch and dinner specials: 3 course prix-fixe lunches for $20.12 and dinners for $35.12. Quite a few really great restaurants are on the list, places I've never been to but wanted to try: Art and Soul (Art Smith from Top Chef Masters' restaurant), Morton's Steakhouse, Ruth Chris', The Palm, Chart House in Alexandria (a personal favorite of mine), Charlie Palmer Steak. Almost 200 restaurants in total. So who might be up for having dinner together on Sunday night as well. Guys in the DC area who couldn't make lunch the next day might be able to join us. Plus old friends get another chance to get together -- maybe before we head over to DC Eagle.

 

We could hopefully come to a consensus about where to go, meet somewhere 6-7'ish sometime (depending on where and any interest) and go from there. So is there any interest in meeting Sunday night as well. I can say for certain I will be interested and I think my escort for the evening will be as well. DC guys, any recommendations from the restaurants on the list? Let me know if you're interested and maybe any restaurant you might be interested in. If no one else is interested, I guess I'll head to Chart House. But otherwise we can stay in the Dupont Circle area. But I'm open to ideas.

I think it would be helpful for attendees to organize their time and especially for possible attendees to view it organized and grahically in one spot, see how interesting it will be, and hopefully attend!

Thanks Lucky. It was a lot of fun last year and sort of can be a pre-cursor to the big event, Palm Springs weekend. And hopefully this time it'll have guys meet in DC who haven't met yet but who will be going to PS in March, making that event even just a smidge better.

Any suggestions from those who have been to MAL before? Does it make sense to register for the whole thing, or to go to the events of interest individually? At IML last year I didn't do the full registration but still went to the market and to some of the evening parties. Is it same here?

When I checked it out it was $180 per person for full 3-day registration--OUCH. The also had limited daily registration for $10 for 1 day and $20 for 2 days. It was very unclear, however, what this included. If anyone can figure out the limited registration, I'd be grateful for any info.
