There's a laundry list of people on this board who felt the need to announce their departure, only to eventually return. Should we list them all for the purpose of embarrassing them further?

 

Personally, I think it's much more fun to be banned for a year and come back fresh and new, resisting the temptation to create a new username. But that's me and I hear I'm unique.

 

Some escorts beg to be poked and prodded on this board. If you're an escort who openly displays contempt for gay men who purchase companionship, I think you deserve a major kick in the ass. But to slap an escort simply because he's not your "thing" or he annoys you, is bad manners, and such selfish behavior on the part of clients ruins the spirit of this board. Please, stop your cunty behavior.

 

Message to escorts: some clients are absolute assholes. Nothing will change that. Not everyone will love you or appreciate your desire (or financial need) to self-promote. My advice is grow a thicker skin and ignore the assholes.

 

Learn from each other. There are some escorts who conjure controversy here but when certain posters try to spark a flame war, those escorts remain quiet, and continue to participate to the joy of many. Learning to stay quiet is good medicine for everybody. If you refuse to feed the trolls, the flames burn out quickly.

Posting a travel date is really a completely different type of participation than the interactions on the opinion threads. Whether the poster to whom I believe this thread is directed comes back or not, that is his decision. Posting here about future dates of travel and availability is more direct advertising to known clients and to my mind is a service to those clients.

I'm one of those who left the Board a while ago and came back a few months later. I wasn't particularly embarrassed, as the conditions that prompted my hotfooting it out of here changed. I welcomed the chance to reconnect when they did, came back under my old user name, and haven't had any regrets since.

 

If I had it to do over again, I'd think twice about announcing it. My reason for doing so was a hope that folks who were supporting the direction the Board was taking might give it a second thought. I doubt that happened as a result of anything I said, but after a while the Board did become a much pleasanter place to be. And I did want to say so long to folks I really liked, but wasn't in touch with outside the Board. I slept on it for one night, but no logical reason not to have slept on it for two.

 

My hope would be that anyone who leaves and decides to return gets a warm welcome back inside the family tent.

When someone is serious about leaving, they just leave without announcing it. Typically those that make announcements about leaving aren't gone for long. Or at least that's been my observation.

I must have missed the Elections that gave you the authority to speak for ALL the members on this site. The ONLY petty self-indulgence I can see here is YOURS, with your loud mouth, grandstanding about everyone and everything. I doubt anyone would miss that.. But I'm not an elected official and cant speak for the group, only myself.
