Diana tries to clean up...and fails

Here she is on Saturday at a benefit for childen with AIDS...not looking much better than she did in the candid shot taken last week. From the neck up, she kind of looks like the padded cell scene from Lady Sings the Blues, and I think the outfit is supposed to be hiding her new "figure" but failing miserably. She looks happy, though. Isn't that all that counts?

I have a hard time imagining this woman being "happy" but I wish her luck, I just wouldn't want to be on her bad side, which is looking a bit chubby.>

Poor thing!

 

First she has problems with ungrateful domestic and personal help.

 

Then she gets dissed by her nephews husband on the internet.

 

Will anyone give the sister a break! No wonder she's self medicating. And the whole while out humping it for kids with AIDS.

Aw come on Rick, Give her a break. Just because she broke down when she heard that CHER sold out in every major city in the USA. (She thinks that since her and Cher are from the same era....that she should be selling out her events and making millions on her albums too.)

Diana Ross is a neighbor of mine in Tucson. When I last saw her about six-eight months ago, she was relatively thin and looked great. Maybe she gained some weight in rehab which I understand is very common(except for Liza Minnelli)?

 

From my experience with her, Diana Ross can be charming and friendly if it suits her and/or is in her best interest. HOWEVER, IF YOU ARE OF NO USE TO HER, WATCH OUT--SHE IS A VILE AND ABUSIVE BITCH.

How about some compassion?

 

It's sad that anyone would find humor in Diana's situation. I don't know for what she was in rehab, but I can certainly relate.

 

When I quit drinking in April '88, I gained 10 pounds my first month of sobriety and looked like shit. It was tough going the first couple of years, but I kept going to those AA meetings and made it through.

 

She may very well be on an anti-depressant and weight gain can be a side-effect. I just recently started taking a new drug(Zyprexa)for bipolar and I've gained a few pounds.

 

I've seen Diana in concert 3 times and she's amazing. I wish her nothing but the best in her recovery.

I do sympathize with you and anyone dealing with addiction or depression. However, some people can find humor in any situation; it's one way to deal with life & I think it's healthy. Come on; she looks awful but she's still doing that "love me" hair fluff. It's funny in an "uggh" way.

She wasn't amazing at her last (literally her last, as all other shows were cancelled afterwards) concert this summer at Westbury Music Fair. It was really sad. She was vacant & just going through the motions; she kept repeating the same stale lines she's used forever ("This song is almost 40 years old. I was only 2 when I started!"). The audience was loving it but this longtime fan found it depressing.

i'm sure the behaviour she has shown denies her compassion being the 'diva from hell' even though you might be coked up outta your skull or in a champagne coma from years of having someone see to your every whim and desire,maybe when she starts behaving like a human being then people will give her compassion

 

It seems to me that the only thing she has cleaned up is at the buffet table-did someone say Jenny Craig.........

 

and puh-leeze dont give that great diva bullshit the behaviour no matter WHO it maybe is reprehensible just because you are famous it dont mean you act like an asshole it not a permission slip.

I agree Rick Humor is very healthy and there is nothing wrong in having a little fun with DR's new umm look

 

Down with the over hyper-sensitive PC people! Warren Zevon was on Letterman last night and making jokes about his own upcoming death (for those who don't know he has terminal lung cancer and isn't expected to make it more than a few months ).
