Feedback/Suggestions for the Galleries

I was hoping that I could get some feedback from Forum members who regularly (hell, even irregularly) look at the Gallery posts I’ve been doing.

 

I’ve been doing it for about a month now, trying to fill in as best I can for Justaguy who deservedly took and I’m certain needed a break. First, I don’t think we can thank JAG enough for what he started and what he gave to us over a considerable period. Also, we can never forget the wonderful sets of photos that doitb4ugo also provides us. Both of these guys deserve our thanks.

 

As you may have noticed, I’m trying to post 2 separate galleries every day (or 14 a week), plus a “Which Guy/Butt For You” pic most days. I’ve tried to keep the same gallery concepts as JAG established. Just Jeans (Monday), Tuesday Treats, Wednesday Wish List, Rear Views (Thursday), Hottie Friday and Saturday Studs (although I think I changed the name because I couldn’t find it when I started). I think this structure works, giving me four general galleries and 2 themed galleries as a base. Because I seem to have found quite a few blogs with lots of pictures centered around certain themes, I’ve tried to add, on a regular schedule, a few more themed galleries: Abs-olute Perfection (Tuesdays), Do It Yourself (Wednesday), What’s Love Got To Do With It (Thursday), Beach Scene (Friday), Wide World of Sports (Saturday, which seemed fitting since it was on Saturdays on ABC for a generation), and Pool Party (Sunday). So that fills 12 of the 14 galleries, leaving me a couple to play with other themes as I see them pop up on various blogs, which I’ve covered with themes such as Hairy Men, Jock Straps, The Great Outdoors, Cowboys, Leather, Upside Down, and Tattoos. Plus an occasional Signs of the Times for humor and a bit of political commentary.

 

So the question comes up: what’s working, what isn’t. I obviously will put a lot of pics in a gallery that appeal to me, but I always try to pick some that are not my type because I think others might prefer it. I really use 2 tools to determine how things are received. First obviously are the comments everyone posts. But the other is to look at the total views. For example, the Jockstrap gallery last week seemed to have gotten a sort of mixed response in the comments. Yet it’s had more views than almost any recent gallery. So was that a success?

 

I guess what I’m asking for is feedback on what you’d like to see more of (or less of) in the gallery. Any of the galleries that can be dropped (the 6 started by JAG are locked and I will not change them). Any suggestions for other topics or things you’d like to see. Some things that come to mind would be all blonds, twinks, bears, underwear, or uniforms. I will even entertain special requests (which take more time obviously), and I’ve even slipped a few pics of Forum members into the galleries (so if you want to have a self-pic (no face please), let me know).

 

Any comments – good, bad, or ugly – would be appreciated as I try to bring something that everyone can find something to enjoy.

Part happenstance, part design. You obviously have noticed that the pics themselves can only be shown in groups of four, which is a limitation of the forum. So I just sort of got into the habit of trying to do 5 groups of 4 to alllow for enough variety of pictures. The more "mature" pictures which only have the web link was the happenstance. On the first couple of galleries I posted, I sort of maxed out at about 8 pics. It sort of made sense, 2 sets of 4. Believe it or not, there are a lot more blogs with only softer pictures rather than the more mature pictures. I've gotten better at finding who has which type, how often they update their blogs and so on. And so I just sort of fell into the habit of 5 sets of 4 softer pics, and 2 sets of 4 more mature pics. Hence 28 pics.

I think you're doing a fantastic job. Seems like an awful lot of work. I like when you have a line-up of guys and you pick one. Always fun.

I'm one of those "members" who looks at your Gallery posts almost every day--usually while drinking coffee and watching the talking heads on MSNBC.

Thank you so much for what you do, the amount of time you spend and for caring about those who access the photographs.

A few requests: more men in underwear please, if it can be done.

I'm not a fan of butt photos, but please don't eliminate them

Lee, dont know where you find the time, but your dedication to providing us with Daily, boner producing entertainment is admirable, and I personally thank you. You usually know spot on what us viewers like (a miss here and there), but generally you always provide something for everyone.

I echo the comments that you are doing a FANTASTIC job. The gallery is one of the first things I look at when I turn on the computer. I review my email first and then come here to "catch up" I like the themes, but I am sure that they require more work to put together, and given the time that you now devote to this, I don't want to add to your workload or I am afraid you will get burned out too. Maybe you can cut back fro, 28 to 24 or 20 each day, and then add a "special" theme once in awhile. I am one who loves some of the older guys as well as the young ones, and faces (especially eyes) get to me almost as much as a hot bod. But you are also at the mercy of what is postd elsewhere and then collecting, sorting and posting... so the bottom line for me is THANK YOU... I enjoy everything that you are doing, and don't want you to burn out in the process. Thanks too for asking the Forum members what they like, but the "views" and comments are probably your best feedback.

You're doing a great job, especially in the variety department! Absolute perfection (I can't recall how you spelled the pun) is a definite keeper for me! ['Saturday Studs' I called 'Saturday Snacks'] Honestly, I can't think of anything to fill the voids that's easily found with any great ease. I tended to plug the holes with sets dedicated to one or a small number of guys. Other than that, whatever you come up with is bound to be good. :-)

Thanks, you are providing a wonderful pic fix for early morning viewing. I appreciate all the hard work that goes into this. I think actually you could post fewer pics per thread and go a bit easier on yourself. I would be just as happy with a dozen pics per thread. That leaves more time to savor each one!

Thank god that LBT doesn't need a lot of sleep. Thanks Lee for this entertainment. It is what I log into first thing in the morning. So far you have beaten me to the punch every day. I would love an "underwear" or "speedo" theme. Hell what do you expect from Poolboy. If I keep going at two hours at the gym every day, maybe in a while I'll be good enough shape to be highlighted.

Thanks to all for the comments so far. As far as burnout, one of the joys of having an OCD-type personality with little need for sleep (which my bf is trying to change ) is I have the time and desire to do it. I don't burn out for a long time. I'm the guy who has eaten exactly the same thing for breakfast and mid-morning snack every day for a year. Thank god I never get tired of peanut butter -- god's gift to mankind.

 

I've already gotten a few more ideas (a great one in a PM that I will explore). Thanks for the feedback guys.

I have to say that I rarely check out the "gallery" section, I always assumed that guys who were into that sort of thing already subscribed to one of the many thousands of sites that provided galleries. I did know that someone was always posting in that section, but I thought they were pictures of guys that he had chosen because he particularly liked them. I'm wondering if you've gone a little "overboard?" It might be more interesting if you only displayed a few that reallly appealed to you. I'm always amazed how many of these photos are so avaiable, but they certainly do seem to come off as awfully straight. Personally, I collect phtographs done by Don Whitman of WPG (Western Photography Guild), only the nudes done outdoors against the rocks, or against the mountain skies. They are very primitive by today's standards, but represent what used to get me all hot and bothered.
