We could use some warmth and sun here in Europe.

So far the summer has been very coy ... mostly rainy/gloomy with some really cold days.

Global warming or just a bad luck and misfortune?

We're having the perfect summer weather here in the part of Ontario where I am. Also in Quebec where I have a summer home. But I heard today from an old friend in Switzerland that it is dismal there and I heard the British Open last weekend had bad weather. However I know these things don't last and soon I will be complaining about the weather again. But not right now!

In 21 years of living in PDX, Daddy... I have never seen a spring or summer this un-summer like~ When can we go to Hawaii???

To love without personal gain can be the most significant expression of self acceptance and giving human gift possible given our human nature. Strive for the Will to Love~

Love is not some place you come from. It's something you are through the acceptance of Life and living it and giving back to those learning how.

Desire is easy to suffice and satiate~ Need is the more important then satisfaction. Strive to understand how desires can suffice need and strive for that~ What you need will bring you more then what you desire unless your desires suffice your needs~

If humankind can not understand and utilize technology to necessary needs provision, what is the point of technology?

A flower is just a flower until it comes into the reality of another thing where it is then consumed, cherished or simply ignored to be what it is~

All things are like this~ and in all forms accepted as one purpose or another according to the understanding of the two.

You can't retire from who you truly are~

Life is the profound influence not any particular person or words~. .. but becoming aware of the profound nature of life is the blessing that we can acquire and pass along.

We are plagued by the distraction of intellect and the arrogant thinking that we are above Life beyond the Human experience.

Human truth is situational and in the scopes of human perception, we are limited and evolving.

Truth in itself is complete and always the real situation, in spite of how we, as humans, might like to perceive it or contrive it.

Life and Love are not about us but, rather, perhaps, accepting it and living it and sharing it back~

Love for your own sake and/or enterprise is not greater or replacement for the value of Beauty felt and given back~

Human beings make the mistake of placing judgements of what is right or wrong, good or evil. In the end there is only consequence~

Life exists beyond the human experience~

It seems like everybody is a bit crazy today. Heat Stroke or Hypothermia?

Could also be the last gasp of Friday's full moon.

Perhaps we've just wimped out and no longer know how to deal with temperature extremes. Long before the invention of thermometers and air-conditioning humankind seemed damn well able to survive pretty well. Now we have our technologies to make life allegedly easier but maybe not necessarily better in some respects.

It wasn't that long ago in conditions like these people rose early in the morning to do their work when it was cooler. They toiled till mid day when the temperatures began to peak, stopped for lunch and then took a siesta. It would be late afternoon before labor resumed in the cooler hours of the evening. Longer daylight hours helped as well.

Today we depend so much on conveniences we have to rely on government-sponsored heat advisories to remind us to stay out of the sun on days like these. Certainly there have been times temperatures have been to this level of heat and likely beyond over the millennia. People coped and dealt with it - opened a window, sat in the shade, took a long nap, what the hell else was there to do anyway but not over exert?

But now we get a heat advisory from NOAA and damn near go in to panic over how hot it will be outside while we sit in air-conditioned comfort. Comfort that over taxes the electrical grid and causes brownouts or possibly blackouts due to over use of conveniences. Thus we are dependent upon an electrical system almost totally reliant upon fossil fuels for its operation.

Most of us will wake up in our air-conditioned home, get into our air-conditioned vehicle (or public transit), commute to our air-conditioned offices, then reverse the commute back to our air-conditioned homes and rarely experience the real heat outside. But people will huddle around the water cooler complaining how hot it is outside, we are such wimps these days. ;)

Press Release 2-2011

Global Cooling Begins and Global Warming Ends

with Record Drop in Temperatures

Friday, February 4, 2011 5:00 PM

The Space and Science Research Center (SSRC) announces today that the most recent global temperature data through January 31, 2011 using NASA and NOAA weather satellites supports the previous forecast from the SSRC that a historic drop in global temperatures is under way and that the previously predicted climate change to one of a long and deep global cooling era has begun.

SSRC Director John L. Casey explains, “Based on the data from the AMSR-E instrument on board the NASA Aqua satellite, sea surface temperatures just posted this week showed their steepest decline since the satellite was made operational in 2002. This major drop from the warm temperature levels seen in 2010 is also echoed by a dramatic decline in atmospheric temperatures in the lower troposphere, where we live, with the data coming from NOAA satellites. At present rates of descent, both ocean and atmospheric temperatures are likely to soon surpass the temperature lows set in the 2007-2008 period.

Even with a small correction that is usually seen after such a rapid drop, there is no doubt that the Earth is entering a prolonged global cooling period and will soon set another record drop in temperatures by the November-December 2012 time frame a s was forecast in the SSRC press release from May 10, 2010. ”As to the long term implications, of this significant drop in global temperatures, Director Casey clarifies by adding, “While we always see a reduction from a previous El Nino high, this time the decline is different, very different. What is happening now is the effect of the natural La Nina cooling is being overpowered and accelerated by a once every 206 year solar cycle that has entered its cold phase.

In 2007 after discovering this cycle, I was the first to announce to the White House, Congress, and the main stream media that this cycle would produce a “solar hibernation,” a major reduction in the output of the Sun which in turn would bring a new climate change to a cold era lasting 20-30 years. This hibernation also called a grand minimum was recently verified by NASA data using sunspot measurements and was announced in another SSRC press release January 25th of this year. In quick succession here in early 2011 we have seen two of the strongest possible validations of the global cooling phase of the 206 year cycle and the “Relational Cycle Theory” of climate change which I developed to account for the pattern of alternating cold and warm periods that we have seen for over two hundred years now. Although we will continue to see highly variable weather, the punishing winters the world has seen the past few years including the on-going record setting winter of 2010-2011, are just a sample of what is to come.

Though the conclusions of my research and that of many others around the world has shown a new and potentially dangerous cold weather period is coming, the recent NASA data about the Sun going into hibernation and this week’s global temperature figures have provided critical evidence for our leaders and the public to finally see that the next cold climate era is here. It is also important to recognize that there has been no effective growth in the Earth’s temperatures for twelve years now and according to my calculations, the statistical peak of the long term curve of the past Sun-caused global warming was probably between 2005 and 2007. Global temperatures have suddenly returned to the same level they were in 1980 and are expected to drop much further. Given the momentum of the solar hibernation, it is now unlikely that our generation or the next one will return to the level of global warming that we have just passed through. Again, global warming has ended. It was always caused by the Sun and not mankind. The global cooling era has begun.

The SSRC has a track record for accuracy in climate predictions that is among the best. It remains the only independent research organization in the US that has been consistently warning the US government, the media and the public that this new cold weather is upon us and that we need our people to prepare. As stated many times before, this solar hibernation will bring the worst cold in over 200 years and will likely cause substantial damage to the world’s agricultural systems. Here at the SSRC we will continue to post these releases with new updates so our citizens are well informed.” The satellite temperature data is available through several NASA and NOAA sources including Remote Sensing Systems, (RSS) out of Santa Rosa, California http://www.remss.com, with both sea and atmospheric temperature charts available from the University of Alabama, Huntsville (UAH) via the web site of UAH’s Dr. Roy Spencer. http://www.drroyspencer.com

I know the feeling. I'm thinking on insisting that the escorts who visit me this weekend will take a shower together as part of foreplay.... even walking outside to get a cab can induce a unpleasant sweaty feeling...

Thanks Brooklyn Guy, i've gotten soft and need the reminder :) I grew up without A/C and still managed to survive somehow....I guess after living in nyc for nearly 12 years that I've gotten accustomed to having everything delivered and available...including the boys...lol!

Thanks for posting that weather chart Daddy. It's been a week of variant temperatures for sure. I'm wrapping-up a three-day trip tomorrow. I overnighted in Tulsa yesterday where the high was 104 degrees. Tonight, I'm on layover in Spokane where the high was 69 degrees (and its currently 54 degrees).
