Ohh come on Tomcat, I think you have a knack for finding romance around just about any corner.

Not that it is very difficult in a big city.

I've always been fond of walks through the city, walking is very very good for priming the circulation and loosening the muscles in preparation for some uh romance.

Gather the ingredients for a picnic from some random shops in the lower east side, chinatown or the village then walk across a bridge and have a picnic on the way to some nearly unbearably hip happening in Dumbo or Bushwick.

How about riding the Roosevelt Island Tram then have a picnic on Roosevelt Island. Make sure you bring some Gruyere or Raclette because the tram (Is it still operated by the Swiss?) might put you in an alpine mood. I've a lovely propane stove and fondue pot that fit in a rucksack for just such occasions. Then it's just a short hop into Queens to a sculpture park and the Noguchi Museum.

I second renting a rowboat in central park, walking the highline and visiting the cloisters and several other mentioned things.

Just about any serendipitously stumbled upon small restaurant is, I think, better than planning on something big name, or having long lines. Though the lines can get long even to my favorite Arepa or Suadero cart in Jackson Heights.

A mutual sense of discovery can be a great romantic experience even if if falls even far short of polished.

Im planning a first time Bfe hire. Now you know me im the romantic and the nights out Guy. I have the evening activity ... as in late nights covered thanks. So the question is...

Romantic dates in NY. I have my idea some of which I've done but I'd like some idea that are just new to both of us. It doesn't have to be NY specific. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Come on I need my old romantics help.

TC.

Us New Englanders do have a romantic side. Try to get to a beach in spring or fall to be able to walk and converse with just the sound of the ocean in the background. Dress warm and comfortable!! Take a picnic basket (we all know how you love baskets) containing fresh breads, assorted cheeses, fruit, and wine (although this particular experience might warrant gin and tonic). Stop, have a wonderful feast, and then head back for a remarkable evening.

We New Englanders really do have a romantic side....I can't imagine anything moreromantic than a quiet walk in the city at night followed by some hot action in a back alley or seedy men's room....then off toget fucked in a sling of your making....what could express romanticism more than that....lol

From the boi to the master.

Well gentleman. I thank you for all of your assistance. Like always PK came to my rescue and joined myself and the target of my romantic ideals for a wonderful evening around the piano.

But the culmination of numerous of your suggestions from long walks and romantic dinner in the village. To simpler things was to have a broadway legend at Marie's Crisis sing her signature piece to him for me. It was the quintessential end to a most glorious couple of days. Im sure the review will never do it justice. But like the last time when a "newbie" turned to you for help. I will let you experience the romance the way we did with the song. Sung here by Dorothy Loudon. It was quite memorable as I will never forget it. Thank God I am a romantic!!! But more important... Thank God so is Dane Michaels

Dorothy Loudon was at Maries???? I thought she died a few years ago

Well I can vouch for the fact that it was sung by a broadway legend (who does her own recording of Fifty Percent on youtube, btw). But TC did word it carefully to say that the video was of Dorothy Loudon. But that would have been an amazing performance.

But TC and I do have a disagreement on our preferred Dorothy Loudon performance of Fifty Percent. Here is mine: her final public appearance shortly before her death:

However, thre is a perfect bookend song to this amazing song. However, I will let TC post it but I'm sure he won't until his present Company leaves. It is a show that I love and I've fallen in love with it all over again in the last few days.

Lmao. Yeah nothing says romance like the reanimated corpse of a Broadway belter coming to croon at you

No unfortunately Ms loudon is no longer with us ... a loss I feel very strongly about.

No the Broadway legend is a very special woman who has been on the NY cabaret scene for a long time. She is quintessential NYC to someone like me
