Anyone watch the premier last night of a new Showtime series, Shameless? Good cast headed up by William H. Macy. A dysfunctional family that seems to function very well in spite of their drunk and unemployed father.

First episode had drugs, sex, nudity, and some surprises. It will be interesting to see how they handle the gay brothers romance with the Arab Deli owner.

Full frontal on the hot looking next door neighbor.

Should be an interesting series to follow. Btw, Joan Cusack has an interesting but spacey type role.

Also exposing his butt was Shameless actor Justin Chatwin:

How gays are portrayed on TV

The Vanity Fair interview raises a good point on how gay teens are portrayed on TV. Not all gay teens behave like the flamboyant Kurt on Glee. Shameless actor Cameron Monaghan makes a good point when asked how he would describe his character:

"He’s the anti-stereotype. He never does anything that’s stereotypically perceived as “gay”. He’s tough, he’s street smart, and he’s pretty much unlike any gay teenager on television right now."

I saw it too, really liked it. And yeah, lots of male flesh... in fact, was there any female flesh? It seemed like only the guys were dropping trou. I almost watched it again tonight just to get another glimpse at it all, but you've saved me the trouble with the pics here!

Naked guys aside, I enjoyed it as a TV show and it looks like there is a lot to build on. Got it on my DVR list.

Shameless Show times...

You've convinced me to watch next time! I'll look it up but could somebody tell me when it is scheduled to show again? Manmy thanks

You'll be a happy guy to know that Shameless airs (East Coast) on Sundays at 10pm. It's on Showtime and has repeats of the 1st episode almost every night. If you have a DVR, just program it and enjoy! Looks to be a season hit.

I watched it last night (I'd DVR'd it). Very promising - lots of potential, and they avoid the expected (for example, Fiona's new boyfriend). I also though the scene in the van between the gay & straight brothers was well-done.

I was a bit surprised at how little we saw of William Macy in the first episode. And from the previews, it looks like the tone will become more serious in the future.

Female Flesh...

Nate_SF, During the kitchen sex scene you get to see Shameless actress Emmy Rossum's tits...

Ah, you're very correct. I guess I was so mesmerized by Justin Chatwin's butt, I didn't notice the tits. Did I mention Justin Chatwin's ass? Mmmmm hmmm.

I loved the show - watched it again last night.

I always thought Steve Howey - Pictured as the neighbor in Shameless - formerly the

hunky-loveable-but stupid "Van" from REBA - would be "Better" Hung - \

Still think he is a hottie and when he gets into bed I know I'll find that he is

a "Grower!" Or I'll just roll him over and . . .

Wetnwild... Like you I watched the 1st episode again. The writers accomplished a lot in introducing each character and giving some direction as to where this story-line is heading. I'm sure Joan Cusack's character is going to become more prevalent especially now that her husband has left her, perhaps a love interest in "dad" William H. Macy.

A very talented and likable cast. I'm looking forward to the next episode to see if it can still captivate my attention.

Watched the 2nd episode of Shameless on DVR... I'll be the first to admit that if this were the 1st episode, I don't think I'd be too enthusiastic about posting about it. What I enjoyed about the 1st episode was missing in the 2nd. The children, with the exception of Fiona, were a small part while more emphasis was placed on the characters of William H. Macy and Joan Cusack. Both are quite bizzare. Did I really want to see Macy naked in bed with Cusack placing a foot long dildo up his butt? :-)

If it was Steve Howey taking a Ft Long Dildo I'm sure it would have been more entertaining?

BG, You are absolutely correct... There was a S&M sex scene involving Steve Howey and his gf but it wasn't as explicit as Cusack inserting a foot long thick dildo into a tied up Macy's butt... I would have enjoyed the episode more if it hadn't focused so much on Macy and Cusack characters. Let's see what happens next Sunday... What we now know about Macy's character is that he's unemployed, on assistance, an "ugly" drunk, dirty, a father of 6, abuses and neglects his family, doesn't like Canada, and sees some financial/personal gain in pursuing Cusack.

In the first episode, Macy came across as more of a harmless. Episode 2 revlealed much more of his character. it will be interesting to see if this happens with the children as well - revealing the complexity beneath the superficial view of episode one.

I wonder if the director intentionally kept things somewhat 'light' in the first episode in hopes of hooking viewers first.
