I'd say $2,000 - those are fees paid directly to the escort. Does not include transportation, travel expenses, hotel accomodation or gifts. I am basing this on 8 to 10 sessions per year.

My guess is that you are way under. If you are talking about 8 to 10 one hours sessions at a cost of between $200 and $250 each you are probably correct.

 

However, many guys on this site hire for two or three hour sessions at a cost of between $500 and $600 each. Still others guys hire for overnight at a cost of between $1,000 and $1,500 each. And still others, myself included, travel with escorts for up to a week or more and I'm not even going to estimate the cost for those sessions.

 

For those guys who are serious about hiring escorts my guess is that $2,000 a year would be a mere drop in the bucket.

I'm relaxed about hiring and do so when I'm between boyfriends. I figure the fee for hiring is about the same cost as the dinner/theatre/travel expenses I incur with a boyfriend. As a middle-aged guy who likes handsome muscled young men, I understand that my big, thick wallet is an asset I have to use for mutual benefit.

 

This year I broke up with my boyfriend in April. Since then, I've seen a couple of guys while travelling and at home I've a working guy I see frequently. I reckon the cost of hiring, at a reduced pace in 2010, was perhaps $6000.

I agree. The OP specified 'viewers' here - I'm not sure that those who responded were a representative sample of all members. Of course they may be, but there's no way to know. I didn't respond to that thread, but I estimate that I saw my regular local guy about half a dozen times, plus a duo once for a couple of hours. That puts me in the neighborhood of $2000. We know about the more 'serious' hobbyists here, but there are hundreds of members who seldom if ever post or reveal their habits.

Sure it would be helpful, as long as you calculate a standard deviation to give us an idea of the spread. A median would be even better since there are probably more once-per year outlier than super wealthy outliers.

Last year, I think I spent about 25K to 30K on escorts. The year before when I was still in a relationship, i spent close to 70,000 just on travel and food, entertainment, and vet bills for my bf's dog.... so i'd say having an escort is cheaper than having an artist boyfriend...
