off-topic on the humor, but "What that" reminded me of the "Sherlock" episode where Watson got married (or they were preparing for the wedding), Sherlock's going over the guest list and asks "Who he?" Is that a common phrase in England?

Actually neither. Tom was answering his sidekick's declamation (was his name Bud?), 'Hey look at that!'
