My piano teacher drilled into me that our thumbs are our strongest finger and that if I let my thumb dominate, the piano sound would be muddy ...legato top & bottom notes and light staccato inner voices...over & over to compensate.

 

thank God for her...now I can text like a maniac, hold a death grip around the biggest of instruments, yet control my thumbs to emit the sweetest of sounds. And now, for a few jokes...

This echoes a comment my older sister made about 10 years ago when going to her first concert in possibly decades, a Rolling Stones concert. She thought she'd feel old and out of place. She came back saying that she was amazed at how many people at the concert had walkers.
