Okay, this past week I went to my local video store and rented the third season of Sex and the City so I could catch up with Carrie and the girls. (I do not have HBO) This past weekend I had a Sex and the City marathon and I loved it. I am anxiously awaiting the fourth season this fall (For those who have never seen the show, do yourself a favor and either watch it or rent it-well worth your time. If all shows were this well written and acted tv would be a wonderful place all the time)

I also rented the newest movie by Matt Sterling called "Feast your Eyes", which sorted a very hunky Trey Rexx on the cover. BIG YAWN!!!! What has happened to Matt Sterling lately. He has produced some of the best porn ever years ago? And to expand on that, most porn in general seems to be a big turnoff for me anymore. Very few movies out these days that I find to be very erotically charged. Catalina produces schmaltz, Falcon is very hit or miss, Kristen Bjorn seems to be very generic (you think with one movie a year it could be a little better),Bel Ami barely looks legal, Jet Set, while the men are attactive, are very dull and wooden and All Worlds is too busy promoting their resort. The only decent movies out there (in my opinion) are either Titan(which produce to few movies) and Pacific Sun.

I found the 18 episodes of Sex and the City to be more entertaining and erotic than the movie I rented. Is it me? Can one become immune to the effects of porn?

No mmk, it's not you or if it is you I'm right there with you.

It's very rare anymore for porn to have any affect on me and the current stuff has become so predictable, so boring that I've stopped buying or renting videos.

Once in awhile I'll dust off some of the old classics and still enjoy them but even they are losing their luster.

I love SATC too...didn't even know it was on video..duh!

Though Carrie is beginning to get on my nerves...LOL...I'm hard to please.

Take care, Les :7

Me too. That's why, when I watch porn (which is rare these days), I opt for straight stuff. I am not a fan of pussy but those bitches take multiple loads, get slapped around & gangbanged raw, and do all the stuff that I can't do (or see in gay porn). :9

Again, I agree. When I was younger, it was so exciting. Now, I'd much rather make my own action than watch others.

I LOVE "Sex and the City" too! Each episode is a like a mini film, and not only better written and acted than most other t.v. shows, but also better than most films at the theatres! I discovered it later with the fourth season when I had HBO installed last year. Now, I have been catching up and watching them out of sequence by renting the tapes. Just watched the entire second season and it was superb! In fact the first three seasons were even better than the current 5th season now running. There was just a little more attention to detail and making them more like films with great restaurant sets and on location shots of NYC that just captures life in NYC so well. There is hardly a topic not covered by these hip, funny girls that hasn't been discussed here ( well, maybe I shouldn't go that far :7 ) I think Carrie is adorable, and Samantha is a scream. I could see the character of Samatha actually logging in to this site and reading the reviews and pics just to get off! Too bad this will be the last season.

Another great show on HBO os "Six Feet Under", it is just as well written as SATC but very different.

As for recently seen Hot pornos, I am with you too, can't even remember any good ones, even though I enjoy porn sometimes. I like KB, Jocks,Mustang,Titan's "Heat" was Hot }> but that was a while ago I saw that

RE: gay porn

A few of my all time faves:

"Cruising" by Falcon. The scene with Race Jensen and Mike Lofton is so hot.

"The Chosen" by Falcon. What Mike Branson does to Derek Cameron - whew!

"Bad Moon Rising" - Brad Hunt and Chad Knight. Extremely hot scene.

"Get it Online" by Titan. The scene with Glenn Macallaster and Adam Wilde. The hottest scene in gay porn in my opinion.

I also think the str8 porn today is better than the newer gay vids. Maybe I'm just spoiled for the real thing.

i enjoy sex and the city as well. i decided it is really about four gay men. next time you watch it, think of the girls as men.

i use to buy alot of gay porn and hired some of the "stars". however, after a while, the real stuff was so much better than what was on the videos that i stopped. there is just nothing like the real thing. i feel that alot of posters and readers here have yet to hire a hot escort (there seem to be a large number of reviews that state: "this was my first escort experience..." or "this was my first man to man experience..."). the men who still live in the fantasy world of videos and are too timid to try the real thing are really missing alot; i know because i was there once. hopefully, they will read the reviews and find one of the great men here who can give them the experience they need to venture forth into the world of real sexual experiences. there have been a number of posts on escorts who are wonderful for "first timers".

Could I be the only gay man who cannot stand SATC? I have watched it a few times. While I recognize that some of the writing is clever and the acting is good, "Carrie" is just way too obnoxious (whiny, self-centered, manipulative) for me to enjoy watching.

As someone else mentioned, Six Feet Under is also very well written and acted TV.

As for porn, I have also become bored with it. I think it does have something to do with the fact that watching the same thing over and over again gets boring, and most major porn studios make the same videos over and over with different bodies. There seems to be no spontaneity to the sex. In fact it seems like the men aren't really having sex at all -- they're just getting into various positions and posing for the camera. I can't imagine enjoying a sexual encounter that was so scripted; it isn't exciting to watch one, either.

Big SATC fan here too. I'd like to know which character you identify with? My friends say that I'm Samantha.

As for porn, I got to the point that looking at the boxes for in my local store was more exciting than whatever i ended up renting. Now i'm not even enjoying the boxes! Guess like a couple of others, it just doesn't come close to the real thing.

Gee, I guess I must just get lucky with the porn movies that I get to watch, though it's not that many anymore, cause I've seen some good ones where the sex is as raw as straight porn and then some. Falcon movies are usually good, admittedly some more than others, in particular; "Out of Athens", the second to last scene of part 2 you would like Rick; Johnny Brosnan takes it like a man from at least ten guys. It was the first time he had ever done anything like that on or off camera (this was his first movie) and he went hogwild living out a fantasy. Very cool movie. "The Crush" is great especially the scenes with Daniel Montes and Christian Taylor, YUMMY!:p , and the scene with Travis wade and Colby Taylor. "Basic Plumbing 2", the scene with Chase Hunter and Brennan Foster is one of the hottest EVER filmed . These two guys still rave about how much they enjoyed it. The chemistry is unbelievable. There are a few others. There is a new one "Dark Side" where each scene takes on a taboo; sex with a priest in a confessional, father and son, etc. I think there is some heat in that one. I just saw previews for an upcoming Falcon film "Deep South" and there is a scene where seven or eight guys pass Jeremy Jordan around like a sex doll, it's amazing they just lift him up and do with him what they please. Clips from that scene alone have me eagerly anticipating this one. Anyhoo, those are a few porn movies that consistently do it for me. :-)

To avoid a real spit-and-scratch fight, I'll forego my critical opinion of "Sex and the City," except to opine that I don't deliberately tune in to a program whose whole reason-for-being is the celebration of female-oriented straight sex. It just don't ring my chime.

But I do have some thoughts about the lamentable state of gay porn. In its early days on film, gay porn was some of the most adventurous, to say nothing of hot, underground filmmaking around. If you haven't watched the Joe Gage films, do and find out what I'm talking about. Colt, Bunkhouse, and other studios turned out wonderfully filmed, sizzling hot pieces again and again, featuring men whose likes seem to have disappeared from the planet. (For example, Mike Davis, Toby, Bruno, Ledermeister, to say nothing of the incomparable Al Parker -- all of Colt Studios alone.) The men were untrimmed and steroid-free. Most important, it was obvious that they really loved their work. Even the "plots" were more interesting than they are now.

It's still possible to find some porn worthy of the exalted epithet of "filth." There's HOW THE WEST WAS HUNG. There's the shower-scene from the otherwise rather limp-dicked Ryker vehicle called RYKER'S REVENGE. Mostly, though, I find it necessary to go to amateur stuff to find real enthusiasm among men who seem made of flesh and blood and who are obviously so eager to get off they can hardly wait for the camera to roll. Dirk Yates and Dink Flamingo manage to stumble across some wonderful guys -- don't forget that Haus Weston (who, unfortunately, has ruined his beautiful self by going "mainstream") was discovered by Dirk Yates.

The problem, among other things, is the quest for "perfection" in male beauty, the fetishizing of youth, and -- most of all -- the come-on of the still photo on the box and other places. Mostly, those boys are just photogenic -- standing still. The close-ups of their bored expressions, trimmed pubes and shaved balls are to my mind about as sexy as a latex doll.

Porn stars are like escorts: if they don't enjoy their work, it shows, whether they believe it or not. And who wants to spend money on a guy who couldn't possibly earn that much in that little time otherwise?

Hold on Will - not so fast.

The reason I love SATC is because of the hot men these babes sometimes hook up with.

I can't remember his real name, but the guy who played Bobby on "Third Watch" (before they wrote him out), and is too hot for words, did a guest shot and they showed a lengthy view of his butt as he was being blown.

Then there was Kyle McLaughlin of "Twin Peaks" fame whose butt was prominently featured in several episodes. And there have been lots more, but thier names escape me.

If this is the direction that Prime Time TV is headed - it's sure got my attention!

I agree, there is tons of eye candy for gay men to enjoy on SATC. Like the previous poster noted ,it is like these girls are gay men trapped inside women's bodies. Plus gay men can relate to many of situations they discuss since they are talking about MEN! The show features more gay plots, clubs, quotes, and dick references than you can swing a Fendi bag at! It's even written by gay guys and inspired the American version of "Queer as Folk". I feel like I really "know" all these women, and have dated or know other's who have dated all the types of men been in all situations they have gone through.

I rememberd a good xxx vid. Falcon's "Other Side of Aspen part 5". The orgy scene is awesome, and I love Colby Taylor!

Kind of like homophobes who won't give Six Feet Under a chance because it has gay characters. What did your mama do to you, Will? This isn't the first time you expressed anti-woman bias.

He doesn't get it, Donnie. As Curious stated, SATC is a show written primarily by gay men, which is what makes it screamingly hilarious and to-the-point. If he'd put his bias aside for a second (unlike my ex-husband who WINCED every time he saw men kissing on 6FtUnder, thus "spoiling" the whole episode for him), he'd see why the show's so popular.

SATC and 6FtUnder are the only reason I keep cable!

This is blasphemy woman and you have now officially aligned yourself with Donnie Dark Side! Will is the patron saint of this board and has never expressed an ill word about anyone and is the exact opposite of biased! (Whatever word that might be).

Seriously now. (Just kidding Donnie.) It’s not bias just because you are not interested in something. It’s simply a matter of not being able to relate. If it weren’t for the hope of seeing Chris Noth semi-naked, I probably would have never watched the show myself. It’s definitely funny, but I don’t relate to much of the subject matter. That doesn’t make me anti-woman, it just means I am disinterested in straight sex. A queer that isn’t interested in straight sex? Go figure!

By the way, I think your ex-husband's reaction to men kissing is perfectly natural. (I have NEVER understood why any straight men would watch Queer as Folk.) It is not something he can relate to and he has not had a lifetime to become desensitized to it the way that gay people do with straight sex.

Just because you can't relate to something, doesn't mean you have to treat it with disgust.

Good point. And I seem to recall that whenever something female is brought up here, be it a pic of Madonna or straight porn (which a LOT of gay guys are into), Will is the first one to make disparaging comments. So...he's not exactly the innocent patron saint here, phage (I know you were kidding, but...). He can be closed-minded. He's only human, and I think Donnie (evil as he might be :p ) might have a point. Also, as Tina pointed out, SATC is written by gay guys and the sex/issues they discuss are the kind of sex/issues gay guys have!

RE: Heresy!

Umm gang, Will said he wasn't interested in the show, not that he found it disgusting or difficult to watch. So what does everyone think of what he wrote about gay porn?

I have seen a few episodes of SITC and I find my eyes glaze over with the running subtheme about designer stuff. As the people here who know me know, I know Dolce&Gabana like Dole and bananas. See I probably spelled it wrong as well.

I'm sure the writing has a lot to do with the lives of gay men, but I don't think it has much to do with me, or my life. Does that make me less tolerant or closeted? If so, where do I return my membership card in the gay brotherhood.

Oh yeah, for the record, I like women, I have had sex with women, and I can appreciate them for being the more important half of the human species.

I don’t agree. I’m not sure if the point is that you shouldn’t SHOW your disgust or that you should somehow not have very natural reactions to something you cannot relate to and find disgusting. In order to be an evolved human being do you have to be open to everything? I don’t think so.

I’m queer. I can’t help, and have no desire to change, my feelings about eating pussy. Would I mask my true feelings if in the company of lesbians? Probably (out of politeness), but that would not change my true feelings. Do I think it’s disgusting for OTHER people to do it? No. Do I want to see it? No. Would I hide my true feelings from my spouse? Not a chance.

I can think of several gay sex acts that I find disgusting and can’t relate to. I’m not sure which is the cause and which is the effect. Are they disgusting to me because I can’t relate or do I not relate because they are disgusting to me? Either way, it’s perfectly natural for me and I would just be fronting if I claimed otherwise.

No, that's a good point, too. (I feel like Gilligan...wasn't he always agreeing with everyone? "Skipper's right; I'm with Skipper." "The Professor's right; I agree with the Professor.") :+
